Why don't they put a button on TV sets so that we can turn off the commentary part (Doherty, Wallace & Venturini) and be able to crank up the track noises of the cars and crowd. The neighbors know when its race day because the Bose are blaring throughout the 10 seconds when they shut their mouths with their asinine blabbering?

They are so bad I turn down the sound. I turn on the radio and listen to MRN, a much better broadcast.

The only NASCAR TV broadcasting team that I like is the FOX team and they have always done a great job of it. Personally, I wish that they would get the whole season. Also, NASCAR ratings would pry be a little bit higher as well because others (ABC, ESPN) were so busy kissing the butts of their sponsors that they forgot to go back to the race for the restart half the time.
Anyway, I can't wait until next Februrary when I get to hear DW and his Boggity, Boggity, Boggity!!!

Personally I find the SPEED TV commentators to be the best when it comes to NASCAR. Sure they are cheesey but they don't ask the same questions over and over to the drivers, and they cover drivers who aren't the most "popular".
Those on ABC/ESPN make me want to gouge my eyes out with sticks because they are so boring, and at times compeltely pea-brained.
The television coverage by this network is horrible! I can't remember how many times I've returned from commercial to see the field in caution due to an accident , or for the commentators to be talking about something totally mind-numbing and miss calling something important.
I don't know how these commentators, with the exception of veterans to the sport, obtain their positions. Based on my experience (I have a friend who is a sportscaster) you need to be GOOD at what you do and KNOWLEDGEABLE of the sport (rules, history and current events), but perhaps over at ABC/ESPN the standards are different.

I fully agree. Rusty Wallace is a total bore. Jerry Punch is knowledgeable but boring. Mike Joy, D.W., Larry Mac, and Jeff Hammond rock. They're a bunch of good ole boys who have the gift of gab and make a race truly enjoyable.

TV sets do have a mute button.. Also, if you do not like the TV people doing the races you can always have Santa bring you Sirus Satelite radio for christmas the Mrn/Prn guys are great.. I love DW, bring on the let's tighten up those belts boys, boggity,boggity, boggity, lets go racing boys.....I'm gonna be in Daytona, can't wait..

We sit there and count how many times Rusty says "Kyle Bush in the number 2 Miller Lite Dodge". It's unreal.
I agree though... Can't wait for Boggity Boggity Boggity and checking out the tan line around the eyes on the announcer that sits next to Darryl. (Can't think of his name).

mmm yes roll on Feb and the return of a proper commentary crew!! mind you..the idea of a noise only race would be most enjoyable as well..give you a chance to give your own "un" biased commentary for the neighbors to listen too..especially if like mine they hate JJ and all the Hendricks mob!!
