The temp was about 40 degrees this morning. I have a Toyota Corolla with about 90,000 miles.

It almost has to be either the battery or the alternator.
If you have access to another car, take the battery to an auto-zone (or a place like that) and have them test it.
If it is ok, then it is likely your alternator.

If it is the alternator, it isn't going to start. If you don't know anyone that can fix it, you will have to get it towed to a repair shop.

i had the same problem yesterday...my alarm would turn on itself and radio works it is -15 lastnight i finally found somene who had jumper cable and then i started my car i should buy a booster soon.

your voltage regulator may be bad which is in you alt. take it to a local parts store they can test your car for free.this will tell you wether your batt alternator or something else is the prob.
