World War I was called a World War because of the number of countries involved in it.

No, WWI was not even close to being the first war. It looks like you need to do a little homework. Just with the U.S. history, there were at least 5 wars since the French-Indian War.

Far from being the first war. It was just the first war to have so many countryies involved in it. The crusades were way before WW1. Roman empire had many wars. The civil war was way before WW1, the spanish american war. wars have been goin on since the begining of time do some work on history....

No, there were many many wars long before WW1. That just happened to be the first war where so many different countries fought at the same time. At the time they thought it would be the last war ever fought, but it wasn't.

Good lord.

Maybe you know about computers. Maybe not. Anyway, Photoshop had a v1.0. Then a v2.0, etc.

But before that was MSPaint.

And before that were pens, pencils, paint, brushes, paper, canvas, walls, etc...

I don't think WWI was even the first world war. Though I guess the Napoleonic wars were like WWbeta. Or maybe Alexander's wars were the beta version, and Napoleon was the gamma version, which made the Kaiser's war v1.0. Hmmm.

no and no. WW 1 was actually one of the most recent wars. It wasn't actually called "World War 1" until we had World War 2.

No. It was considered the first global war, but only after the second had begun. Until then it was known as The Great War.

What? You must be a kid (at least, I hope so.)

As long as humans have existed, they have fought with one another. Too many wars to count, and farther back in time than is recorded.

WWI was called that because it was the first truely global, modern, war. Not because it was the first war alone.
