I'm only semi- computer literate...
How do I cut & paste portions of an article I read online?
I saw an article that has a really kick- a55 recipe in it, and rather than print out the entire thing, I just want to cut the recipe and save or print it.
I know it's possible, but I don't know how!
Help?

move your mouse to the starting of the section you want to copy. hold down the mouse button and move the mouse until you selected all the words you want.

once it is highlighted blue, hold down "ctrl" and tap the "insert" key once (this is called "copying to the clipboard" the clipboard is a location in memory dedicated to holding copying and pasting info)

then let go.

go to your other program you wish to paste into and then
hold the "shift" key and tap "insert" again. Viola!!

the key presses should be done with the right hand. the thumb and index finger.) it makes it a bit quicker and easier.

I copy and paste all the time when typing to re organize my words.

try playing with the shift and home or end keys too. you'll discover some cool highlighting short cuts.

also ctrl home (or end) and shift ctrl home (or end) at the same time

fun fun.

You can also save the page as a whole, this is what I do sometimes when I am having trouble selecting the text in a correct manner.

In firefox:
go to File->Save Page As (or click Ctrl+S)

it is very similar in Internet Explorer

Otherwise, If you want a portion of the recipe to print out, you can left click to select the text and then go up to File->Print. Then you will see the option to "print selected". It will only print what you have selected.

open wordpad
start > programs > accessories > wordpad
Now select the portion on the webpage you want to copy, the right click with the mouse to see a menu , where you can select "Copy"
Then go to wordpad
Now click inside the page and again right click the mouse > and select "Paste"

Now you can send this portion for Print

Left click at the beginning text and drag the mouse to the end (over all the info you need)
then once it's highlighted right click and choose copy, then paste it to ms-word, notepad or any text editor then print .

Or once it's highlighted choose print then select selected (selection only) whatever it available.
