I have a horrible head cold, sneezing, congestion, eye itch and burn, watery and now it's moving to my chest. I've tried Tylenol cold, Tylenol Sinus, Alka Seltzer cold and Sudafed, they don't even put a dent in the pain and pressure. What's going on? Alka Seltzer cold partially works for about 20 min. then BAM! all the pain and pressure is back. I thought this stuff was supposed to help!! Suggestions for pain relief would be greatly appreciated. I am breastfeeding so my options are somewhat limited. I have been supplementing with formula and stored breastmilk while trying to find something that works!!

You could have a infection! I had a problem with my nose, itching and watery, plus pressure in my head. Therefore I decided to fill up a basin full off warm water and sniff it up my nose, clean out the sinus. Never again! The pain was extreme, so went to the Doc who told me I had a sinus infection, probably for weeks! Gave me antibiotics and it cleared. Not all antibiotics pass into breast milk, so see a Doc.

Boil some water, put in Vicks or essential oils if you have them, and put your head over the bowl with a towel over all. This will help to break up the mucus in your sinuses. I would also take blue Mucinex (vs green) to loosen the phlegm, as this may be causing the problem. What you are taking is making the phlegm rigid (dries out) and you need to loosen and get rid of it. That's why it's hanging on, possibly. Give it a try. LONG-ACTING guaifenisin, not anything other than Mucinex.

Alternate systems of medicine can only help you.

There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.

Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES,
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.

Acupuncture is the best treatment.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.

Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.

Avoid late sleeping if possible; worry, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods, SMOKING and alcohole.
Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help if cough is not there.

But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it is very strong.

If it is acute pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

For forehead pain the points are in front of nails on the finger tips or 3-7 mm below.

It may disappear naturally too.

consider that it might be an alergy and not a cold. Especially with the itchy eyes. Anything new in the enviornment tht might trigger it. Otherwise it sounds like you have to ride it out.... or see your MD.
