I would suggest using an isocaloric diet. which means ingesting an equal amount of calories from proteins, carbs and fats @ 33% each. it is a very healthy and easy diet to follow and is not very restrictive.

After I eliminated meat from my diet, I lost five pounds. It wasn't intentional, but it was just an overhaul of what I was and wasn't eating. (I also had previously quit smoking about a month or two prior, so I debunked the weight gain theory, I guess.) When I fully eliminated eggs and dairy, I lost another five pounds. Sure, I eat plenty of carbs, but they're from fruits, vegetables, whole grains, etc. Good, whole real food. I avoid junk "food" like white rice, white bread, and other forms of processed conglomerations. Yes, I do eat processed foods, but they are minimally so, like the black bean burger I had for dinner last night (12 grams of protein; with the two slices of whole wheat bread, it was 20 grams).
I don't think it's necessary to combine proteins. However, there is protein in almost everything I eat, so I'm not concerned, too much. Even some veggies have decent amount of protein. I also eat nuts, beans, and soy as well. Whole grains, it seems (from reading nutrition information charts on the package), seem to be high in protein as well. A serving of the whole wheat pasta we buy has over 10 grams; A slice of the whole wheat bread we buy has four grams.
Anyway, I hope this helps.
Here are some sites I find to be of good information.
http://www.veganhealth.org/
http://www.vegsource.com/
http://www.vrg.org/nutshell/vegan.htm
http://www.vegansociety.com/html/
www.chooseveg.com
By doing a search for "vegan health" you should come up with some good sites that will give you some good information. Also, by going http://www.veggieboards.com and registering, you can ask your questions as well. The people there are generally helpful and willing to provide information for a neophyte.

The only advice I can give you is dont do it. Without protein you will be far unhealthier than healthy. Those people who can live off a veggie diet have been like that since they were children so there body is use to it. If you do it you will hurt your immune system and it will be easier to get sick and harder to get better. Protein is very very important and havent you noticied how veggie eaters are always more sicklier than protein eaters. If you want to be healthier eat stuff like chicken and fish other than that dont do it. Trust me its health trap.

well, you NEED protein in your body. But you can get it in different ways- nuts. Peanuts expecially. Dont go only on veggies because you do need calcium and protein.
how about going on a MOSTLY veggie diet. It'll be healthier for you and easier to maintain.

First take yourself off of red meats. Fish and Chicken can be cooked in very healthy ways! My favorite is Baked chicken with a light marinade on steamed rice with vegis! I eat some variation of it everyday! and it never gets old. you quickly learn to merinade it in different ways so that its always different. I have a yogurt and a bannana for breakfast. a salad for lunch. and baked chicken & rice with vegi's for dinner. i've lost nearly 30lbs in 4 months. and I'm never hungry. your stomach will shrink after time and stop 'exepecting' you to put ALOT of food in it.

Just have a laugh... Please take into account this although: such a lot men like to inform women that they cannot get pregnant in water, in order that they take the possibility to have unprotected intercourse. Please do not do that, intent you'll be able to get pregnant... Enjoy your self
