i've been having this werid feeling that Christmas was going to be something special this year and started praying about it. i recently found out that i am going to a Seventh Day SLumber concert (my dad is a pastor and received a poster about it) so i llistened to them and fell completely in love with them, when my dad announced the concert to the church he explained that it was aimed toward the youth and that their would be a speaker there that night too. the concert is next friday, Dec. 21, do you think its an answered prayer?

i lot of my friends aren;t exactly Christians and living for GOd, i've tried to get some to come, but im not sure if they will. (*i believe in salvation; baptist)

by saying they arent christians, im referrering to not being saved, none of my friends are atheist, one however is agnostic, yous a catholic and feels like they have too many rules and rituals, i thought maybe this could open up some doors for her. by the way im 14 if that has anything to do with it

okay, i was referring to what could happen at the concert being the answered prayer, not going in general...

as far as what someone else said... about if i believe it that is the truth...

atually if i told you that a cow had 5 legs and you believed it it would be the truth? no the cow still has only 4 legs/ think about that

God will supplyu our every need, not nessisarily wants. When we as, he will hear, but if it isnt part of what he has planned, then he woulndt grant it.

What would you think about your friends who aren't living with God if they tried to get you to do some things that you would consider unChristian? Would that bother you?

For instance, let's say you have an atheist friend and you beg her to go to church with you and keep trying to get her to go to this little concert of yours... would you be offended if she tried to get you to go to some atheist event, or if she explained to you that Christmas has nothing to do with Jesus because it's a Pagan holiday and that Jesus was born around August/September?

You pray -> You get to go to a concert -> You believe your prayer was answered by God.

I write down Wii on my Christmas list -> December 25th, I open up a big box with a Wii in it -> Santa?

Even though I don't believe in Santa Claus, I could, if I believed the way you do. I'd be laughed at for my belief, I don't see why it isn't the same way with you...

(Joe made the point I was going to make, so I picked another.)

Sorry,... it's coincidence.

Prayer is useless because there is no god.

Let me ask you this...
With all the misery in the world today, why would the creator of the universe bend the rules of that universe to grant you this silly wish? What makes you better than a starving child, a person dying of a disease, or a soldier who's had a limb, or limbs amputated?
Pray for god to restore the limb of an amputee, then get back to me about "answered prayers."

Yes I think it is an answered prayer as well. Maybe this concert will give some of your friends the opportunity to be saved.....the best thing that could happen for Christmas!!!!!

:-) I'm baptist too!!

I know a few amputees that have prayed hard for your god to regrow their missing limbs....

Too many starving people in Africa and elsewhere pray every hour for your god to end their plight....

Year by year, millions of people are afflicted by droughts and floods, and pray to your god to either make it rain or make it stop.....but no answer....

I guess your god only answers petty prayers, not the important ones...

That speaks books of your god's limitations....

The answer to your first question is YES..

No, I think that you were in a frame of mind where you would perceive any "good" event as an answered prayer.

No, I don't think it's an answered prayer. It's a nice thing that happened, and it makes you happy. Isn't that enough?

To me, you were just looking for something good to happen, since you had this feeling. There is probably something good that happens every year, but this year you just attributed it to your prayer.

Also, if you want a truly religious experience, go buy Led Zeppelin's IV album.

The Blessed Virgin Mary tells us that in order to convert souls, PRAYER is key. You must pray, pray, pray for the conversion of sinners and unrepentant souls. Fast and do penance, read the Bible.
