He has said, "Stop, be still and know that I am God."
Anil, he is always with you. He is the light of life within and the light of creation without. If you "are" it is not possible to be separate from him.
Now it is possible not to realize him or not to recognize him but he is always there. Inherent in all things is his divine love.
We are but drops in the infinite ocean of the light, love and energy of God. Like the drop of water in the oceans of the world, the drop is of the ocean, like the water in the ocean but it is not the fullness of the ocean. The Ocean contains the drop, but the drop does not contain the ocean. The drop that is removed from the ocean is dried up by the heat and ultimately is no more.
Scientifically, consciousness is defined as an electrical charge between two synapses in the brain. Medical doctors when viewing brain activity on an instrument, see different colored lights on the screen that show different types of brain activity. Thus our goal in consciousness is the light of God that lights the life of all men that come into the world, the tree of life, the fount of all being, the Christ, Krishna consciousness, Buddha or the divine light of love.
Outwardly the light of creations surrounds us all. All that you see is but reflected light. If you were in total darkness you could not see. Light must be present in order for you to see.
The light of divine love that is the light of life within and the divine light of creation exist in total harmony as the manifestation of each of these is of God. He is in and of all things.
So what happens? How do we ever feel separate from God? (Ahh here is the teaching common to all Holy text.) The thing that is between these two lights as a veil or a filter is our ego / consciousness. The Father which is the seed of creation is that light of divine love within us. This is the spark of life. The Son is our consciousness or veil that filters the perfect seed of the Father. The Mother Earth (Holy Ghost) is the outward reality in which fruit of the union of all three is revealed as creation.
The system that we find ourselves in is a system of loving guidance designed by a loving God which operates in such a way as to lead or consciousness to the state where we can reveal the ultimate good, not only for ourselves but for all. Our consciousness is simply what we feel, think and believe and how certain we are of these feelings, thoughts and beliefs.
We are never separate from the lord. He is all that is within us and all that surrounds us.
Here is a parable to illustrate this point.
There once was a servant of God who lived a life of love and service. Even so, as with us all there were periods of adversity in their life. Upon the end of this earthly walk, the spirit of this servant entered into the pure divine light of God and there met the Lord. The Lord welcomed the servant and together they looked at the life they spent in the earthly domain. For the most part the servant saw two sets of footprints everywhere in his life and he asked the Lord whose footprints they were. The Lord replied, “One set is yours and the other is mine for I am always with you.” The servant noticed that during a particularly hard part of his life that there was only one set of footprints. Puzzled he asked his Lord, "Lord where were you then, I only see one set of footprints during this time that was so hard on me?"
The Lord answered, " My beloved, I was with you during this time, as I am even now, but my love for you was so great and your need was so intense then that I picked you up and carried you through this hard time of your life."
The Lord is always with us and his love is always with us. It is only us that may be blind.

My belief is based what I have gleaned from my own research and intuition over a number of years. There is precious little reported regarding this most interesting and important question. Even great mystics have said.... you must ask that of the Lord when you meet Him.
My suspicion is that the answer is too bizarre to comprehend, but to imagine this, I must have some opinion... and I do and I will share my opinion.... stressing the fact that it is just an opinion. Based on some tangential evidence, but still in the end an opinion.
In the East, particularly in India and from Hindi, Life is referred to as "the Lord's Lela". This is interpreted as meaning "the Lord's play". In the West, I believe we will automatically misconstrue the term "play". We will not place the needed perspective upon the fact that the term "play" is as close as our language can come to explaining what the term "Lela" means.
To get to my point I must first explain what I believe the Energy of God is, and what is important about this Energy.
Several years ago, while working on trying to comprehend how the Whole Human Being operates within the Esoteric realms within oneself, I intuited the concept of "Neutral Spiritual Energy", or NSgy. This was the answer to how come philosophers had not found Truth, after searching for it for such a long time.
Long story shortened.... NSgy is the only energy that I could find that met certain criteria for the concept of Absolute. These criteria were: Must be permanent, could not be changed, and was in fact incapable of being other than it is. Some time after setting these down on paper, I intuited the concept of Neutral Spiritual Energy, or NSgy.
This intuition did not at the time mean what it later came to mean for me. Eventually I was able to complete my study of the Whole Human Being relative to the Esoteric realms operating therein due to this NSgy concept. I also came to understand the reason philosophers had been unable to discover Absolute Truth. Finally, I realized that the Energy of God was NSgy.
Imagine being God, and you are an Absolute, you cannot change, and you are not capable of being other than you are. Being "Neutral", how would you go about discovering who you are?
Well, this dilemma coincided with a bit of Eastern mysticism I had learned many years earlier. That the energy God used to manifest the Creation was referred to in Hindi, by the name Shabd. Shabd is essentially another term for that of "Word" in Christian dogma.
Shabd or Word was the Energy God projected as from God... but also subtly other than God. Souls are of God, but until actually one with God, they are also Shabd, the Word, or the Holy Spirit.... almost God, but not actually God. Subtle distinction, and hardly scientific... but then, God is not scientific.
So that God may Know what God is, or can be, can do, can become.... God manifested Himself as Souls, or the explorers and experiencing aspects of God within the Creation. Having each Soul take on a MIND allowed the Soul to experience duality, and in establishing a rule of the Law of Karma over all, the Creation was Perfect.

According to the account in Genesis, mankind represented by the first man Adam and first woman Eve enjoyed a blissful existence and direct communion with the Almighty while in the garden of Eden. However, upon Satan's deception and man's acceptance of transgressing his relationship with the Creator, the human race was doomed to physical and spiritual death as a consequence of forfeiting the perfection which God had instilled within man and woman; this perfection was upheld by the sinless nature which God had also breathed into man. Today, sin still resides within the nature of man and it is only through the acceptance of the work of atonement which Jesus Christ performed that mankind can successfully forfeit the harmful and negative consequences of sin, which ultimately leads to death. When Adam and Eve disobeyed the Lord. Although, the Lord being merciful and good He give Us many chances to repent and be with Him with the Holy Spirit.
The Lord never leaves Us, We are the ones that separate from Him when We are not in His GLORY.

Because we, some of us; sinned at a time before we were made a flesh and blood body. So as a result we were placed here in the flesh, all of us, for the actions of a few; (mainly to help). We were placed here to decide whether we would follow Satan or our Father who created us. Life here is all about the choices we ultimately make for ourselves and where we go from here.

??? We are not separated from the Lord. He said he would never leave us or fail us. Let God be God and believe what he is saying. He is right here with us in spirit. Believe what he said. He knows how many hairs are on our head at all times. His technology is far beyond ours. He is our great God.

If you mean wy was PROPHET ADAM(P.B.U.H) sent on earth? well, so that we(the entire mankind) could go through the entire series of life long tests and prove the divinity of our creation to SATAN. That is precisely why the ones who will fail to do so will land up in hell.

If our lives on earth as humans is to be considered separation from God, and if God did separate us from itself then am sure there must be some reason for it.
As I see it, when we are close to God in our atmic forms, we derive energy from God, and our souls rest in peace, so it is for our souls to learn, and grow to a higher level of consciousness nearing God, must be God's aim in separating us from itself.
So this time when we are on earth separate from God is the time for us to learn, nutrure, grow, evolve as better atmans than we were. To strive to better ourselves is the only form of achieveing perfection, and God makes us take this Class (this life) in order to let us grow closer to it.
