Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas, and the greater KC area.
Kansas City Style Barbecue is real big.
Then because the area is a bit of melting pot, there is Italian cuisine, Mexican Cuisine, Argentine Cuisine, German Cuisine, Irish Cuisine, English Cuisine, Scottish Cuisine, possibly a few others from the UK area. There is also a surging Chinese and Korean Cuisine, Ethiopian, some from the South Sea Islands areas, such as Tonga, Hawaiian Cuisine, Caribbean of various sorts, Vietnamese Cuisine, Russian and other East European Cuisine.
The usual bit of American types for the Midwest, barbecue was mentioned, steak houses, fried chicken restaurants, burger joints, and your other typical home cooking type of thing.

This time of year, the scandanavians take over. Something that's very popular in Minnesota and Wisconsin is Lutefisk(cod soaked in lye until it is rhe consistency of gelatin). It is boiled and served with lefsa(a flat bread made from potato), mashed or boiled potatoes(no explanation necessary) Some Christmas!
As an aside, not everyone is a participant. Wisconsin is noted for its dairy products. GOOD CHEESE!

Here is NE Missouri it is Pork Tenderloins. They pound a slice of pork tenderloin until very thin so that they end up about the size of a dinner plate. They are either breaded and fried, or just grilled and served on a bun as a sandwich. You can also get tenderlion with mashed potatoes and white gravy.

All things fried are popular in Oklahoma.
One of my favorite homestyle dishes is chicken fried steak, I tend to think of that as Okie food.
Ha! I was right! The state's official meal is fried okra, squash, cornbread, barbecue pork, biscuits, sausage and gravy, grits, corn, strawberries, chicken fried steak, pecan pie, and black-eyed peas.
That's a lot of food.

i am from singapore. we live in a food of paradise. generally speaking, singaporeans are lovers of food. if you were to come over to singapore, you may simply see people sitting around at food centres and enjoying various kinds of food at all times ie. around the clock. that is why 24 hrs food centres are so popular over here. even fast food rest like Mcdonalds are operating 24 hrs.
singapore is a multi racial society. that is the reason why various kinds of food with different tastes are so abundant over here.
basically, singapore's food is made up of mainly indian food, chinese food, malay food and western food. though there are too many popular food in singapore, i shall try to pick the most popular food from each ethnic.
in terms of indian food the most popular food is prata. this is a kind of a thick pancake fried with little oil. it is served with curry or sugar to enhance its taste. it is so popular that it is sold both in the mornings and in the evenings.
secondly is chinese food. apparently chinese food is fast to cook and healthy to eat. there are too many popular chinese food in singapore but i feel that chicken rice is the most popular food among all. it is served with steam flavoured rice topped up with roasted or steamed chicken.
next would be the malay food. definitely nasi padang is the most popular. nasi padang comprises of different dishes like curry, vegetables and meat served on a plate of steam rice. it so wonderful. with so many dishes laid down we are always spoilt of choices.
finally its western food. as everybody knows, western food is world wide favourite. the most popular one, i would say is pizza. its irresistible, mouth watering and superb.
well, i hope you have learnt something about our most famous food in our country. thank you.
