A couple of seconds. BUT, if you make a big fuss over the cut nail, you run the risk of making your dog phobic about manicures in the future. She'll realise that if she cries at the sight of the clippers, she'll get lots of attention. Nail bleeds happen. They're a lot easier to bear than ingrown nails.

No, your not hurting the dogs, curiously such as you have an excellent expertise of the "speedy", or the vein that runs interior the dogs nail. Clipping the fast is the reason the dogs might bleed, and that i've got heard that's painful for the dogs. I artwork at a pethoteI I do baths and nail trims often, I even have in no way clipped the fast yet, yet I even have some dogs that sit down fairly properly and a few dogs that initiate whinning and screaming the 2d you seize their paw or get waiting to clip. i think of a few dogs have had painful stories interior the previous with nail trimmings and that they associate it with soreness and that's the reason they act as though your hurting them. I even have additionally heard that some dogs do have mushy paws, and this could additionally be a reson for the soreness. yet in my opinion curiously like your doing it precise. i think of dogs delight in nail trims approximately as much as human delight in getting the teeth drilled.

It doesn't hurt for very long. I've cut a few dog's nails too short, and had them bleeding everywhere. The dog cried for about a second, then attempted to lick the nail.

My dog is a WUSS and hates nail cutting time, so Im guessing your dogs all messed up about nails now.....

Pain, depends on how short it is, my dog yelps for no reason... my vet gave me something called contis crystals to put on her nail if it were to bleed, so dont worry, im sure the dogs well over it.
Bet it wont want its paws/nails touched for a while though.....;)

It's already stopped hurting, and the dog has forgotten it....unless you're making a big fuss about it.

Even the best groomers and vets will occasionally clip a nail too short. It's not a big deal.

I think the pain will go away soon. You could put some ice on her paw Poor little thing I know my Dog used to cry to and limp around like she needed sympathy too

it's no big deal. It happens often. Espec. with figity dogs and dogs with black nails.
Dont worry about it.
Your dog has already gotten over it and he's not going to bleed to death

Not for too long. It's like any other cut she (or you) may get...it stings for a bit but then there's no pain unless pressure is put on it.
