I work in the city so need good travel link. Also, just generally, are they safe/nice places etc?

Wansted is nice, just try and stay away from the Forest Gate side of it though!
Snaresbrook is lovely, been there a few times and always seems a nice place.
Woodford is nice but I have heard it is going downhill from a friend who lives there! Too many youths about at night!
All in all i'd say Snaresbrook is the best out of the lot, but if you want a nice place carry on up the central line to Epping/Loughton or (if you have the money!!!) Buckhurst Hill

I think they're OK. They look leafy - not urban slums. Check price of properties in the area. That'll give you an idea. My mate used to live in Woodford and had trouble commuting on the Central Line most evenings - but this was a few years ago. It may have improved by now.

I've lived in Woodford all my life and watched it go down the pan. If you can afford it and like Woodford then go for the snakes lane west side rather than the east.
