9 months ago I could walk 5-10 miles a day without breaking a sweat or feeling the least bit tired since then I've been living a pretty inactive life 90% of my day is spent either asleep or sitting down all day (no walking or real excerise at all). Just recently I tried to walk a mile to the store and after about 1-2 block my lower back and legs start hurting to the point where iI would have literally collapsed if i didnt find a place to sit down and rest. I had to sit down at EVERY corner to rest on the way to the store (along with the back and leg pain was also be being out of breath easily) now walking 2-3 blocks or even standing up for 30-60mins is a challenge for me. My question is am I stuck like this forever and should seek medical help or is this just from being inactive for 9 months and if i push my body to walk 2-3 blcoks daily (enduring the pain for a while) it will eventually get back to the shape it was (or at least close to it) 9 months ago? Oh and Im 24 years old btw.

I would see a doctor just to rule out any medical condition that may be causing this problem. You are very young and this is not something that you want to ignore.

you went from being active to being totally inactive....of course you lose your ability. The saying "don't use it, lose it", is true. You will need to very slowly build back up to previous levels. You let yourself get out of shape, it will take twice the period of inactivity to get back to where you were.
