If what you ate yesterday was considerably less than what you usually eat in a day, then it's probably because you were hungry. Losing weight should not be a drastic measure of cutting your daily calorie intake so dramatically that your body has a hard time adjusting.
Take it slow and instead of eating three meals a day of things like salads/sandwiches, try spacing out 5 small meals throughout the day. So sometime between breakfast and lunch, have a light snack of fruit or yogurt. Sometime between lunch and dinner have another healthy snack. This will help your body adjust a lot better to the new, healthier diet, but it will also satisfy your hunger.
The mistake that many people make while they're trying to lose weight is to cut down their food intake so much that they're body can't adjust. This will make you feel not only miserable but eventually you will give in and eat more and your weight will come bouncing back. Slow and steady is the way to go! That way your body can adjust to the new diet and your appetite will also change accordingly.

With the newer types of insulin these days, diabetic diets aren't necessarily as restrictive as they used to be. Read here https://tr.im/DNhh9
As with any medicine or diet change, you should discuss it with your doctor. Fruits, both fresh and dried, have a natural sugar in them that will raise blood sugar levels, so be careful about eating too much. Not sure about the nuts. Moderation is always the key. I've been diabetic for 18 years and just recently changed insulin types. I love it because it gives me more freedom in when and what I eat.

Sounds like blood sugar issue. You should always check with your Dr. before going on a diet. Drink lots of water, it will keep you feeling full and drink water between bites of food. But be sure to get all the fruits and veggies in your diet along with meat so your blood sugar doesn't go nuts

I don't think you are eating enough calories. For a woman that is dieting, she needs to consume between 1500 and 1800 calories to function as well as lose weight.
Also, if you're on your period that might make you light headed. It does that to me.

it is more than likely that your blood sugar was lower than it has been for a long time and you are not used to it. I would recommend a trip to your doctor for blood testing to make sure you are not diabetic or have metabolic syndrome. Weight loss diets can often turn these things up.

since you said you were sweating and felt like you were on fire, i'm thinking that your body didn't have enough sugar. if you suddenly go from having a large amount of sugar in your body to basically none, your body responds negatively. try having a little bit of sugar during the day until you stop feeling lightheaded.
