The Sun is the source for all warmth on Earth.

"Global warming results not from the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, but from an unusually high level of solar radiation and a lengthy - almost throughout the last century - growth in its intensity,"

There has been studies done on global temperture changes throughout the worlds history. These studies have shown that on average the worlds temperture has been 10 degress C. higher for more then 70% of the last 4 billion years. The periods of cool temps, like we are now, only last a few hundred thousand years. We have been in a cool period for some time and the temperture increases may just be normal or slightly accelerated by human activity.

One way or another, if humans are involved natural selection will remove the excess by mass flooding and drought as we run out of our ability to feed all the people.

There is a new report that states the current warming trend is due to the excessive mating habits of liberals and democrats. It seems that as this population grows so do the many extreme views and current issues that plague our society. We are, too fat, the earth is warming, we need the government to run our health care system (even though they can't seem to solve any other problems) smokers should be hunted down and killed, religion is evil, guns kill people not other people, suv's are satans creation, raising taxes creates equality, rich people are bad, abortion is not murder, kids should never be corrected, all children should be crowned winners even when they lose, drugs unlike cigarettes are ok, everyone should sue everyone for everything they may or may not do to one another, government should be considered a god, and the middle east will find peace without us there.

We need to stop this excessive breeding by libs and dems before we are living back under a totalitarian state.

I am told that it is my personal irresponsibilty in leaving my TV, Cable decoder and Video on standby overnight.

Recently I have learned that it is also my use of a PC, that is causing it.

Occasionally I see pictures of North Sea oil rigs flaring off more gas then my town could use in my lifetime, at the Middle East, Texan and Caribbean oil rigs doing the same in even greater numbers, on a bigger scale, and as I drive down many kilometres of illuminated motorways, I find it difficult to beieve that it is all my fault.

I rather tend to the belief that the sun has gone up to gas mark 6, but, that those who blame me for global warming have an eye on making a profit from the measures they are going to suggest be made mandatory, and universal in their application.

The real cause of global warming is the green house effect. And the increaseing amount of CO2 is cause of green house effect. It had realized before. Many orgrnisations know about this problem. As the result, The Kyoto protocol appeared.

The real answer is: nobody really knows. People cling to different unproven theories with religious faith. Also, whether the earth warming would be good or bad is debatable. Anyone who claims they absolutely know the answer is abusing scientific method.

Scientists have known about this for many years, but the effects take time to build up and make themselves known.

Molecules have different ways of holding onto energy. They bend, stretch in vibration, they spin in rotation and they move in translation. The more atoms a molecule has, the more ways it can store energy. Gas molecules in the atmosphere are mostly diatomic = only two atoms. Carbon dioxide is triatomic, so one more atom to store energy. Molecules can absorb a photon of light and move to a higher energy state. They can also give off a photon and move to a lower energy state. Photons reflecting off the earth that would normally continue into space might be absorbed by atmospheric carbon dioxide, and then be re-emitted in some random direction. Some may continue on into space, others are reflected back to earth, making it a little warmer.

California is struggling to impose limits on carbon dioxide emissions, but they need permission from the Environmental Protection Agency. You can help by writing to your representatives and tell them you want to limit production of carbon dioxide emissions.

The link asks the question, but proposes no real answer. There are various possibilities other than CO2 levels; none is provably correct, as it is impossible to conduct experiments on a global scale.

Maybe because now we are polluting the environment more than ever. We should stop producing so many cars, and other stuff that is contributing to the global warming.

That's the most biased and unscientific article I've ever seen. It doesn't even work well as a joke; it's just a mean-spirited rant.
