It would never happen, but it's something you wouldn't want to experience. Think about it, no laws would be enforced. After a week, there wouldn't be enough of Police to handle all the crimes that occurred in 7 days.

Oh boy, this is the sort of thing that coppers LOVE!

But the truth of the matter is that if anything took cops off the streets for a week, we'd be serviced by the military or National Guard.

So you see, we WOULD NOT be headed into hell without those angels in blue. Lies, lies, lies and narcissistic arrogance from all coppers here who scrub on readers' faces how important they are in the community. But the fact is, that cops can and would be replaced!

Imagine a week without cabbies, bus drivers, even refrigeration and cable techs, and everyone else who do not have a backup system to see who we really can't do for a week without.
Sorry boys...

It would be longer than that, because I know damn well I wouldn't come back and try to clean that mess up after a week of anarchy.

Well, maybe all the Charles Bronson wannabes would do us some good though. Really clean house with the rules lifted right?

Hmmm.....I see a book somewhere in there.

With great difficulty round here, I live close to The Emirates Stadium and we always have a strong police presence when there is a game here. Plus some of the visitors to the area insist on slashing each others throats so I dare say we'd have blood running free on the streets here.

The smart arses who suggest they wouldn't notice the difference would do well to research the general police strikes of the 1930's in Britain and the Montreal police strike in Canada.

Absolute mayhem is what you can expect and a new appreciation of how much the mere prospect of apprehension keeps a lid on things.

Depends on where you live. In areas with gun control laws there would be havoc. In rural areas where everyone knows their neighbor and there is the risk that someone in the home has a gun I don't think much would change.

There may be more drunks asleep on the street but there won't be any more real criminals who are unaffected by their presence so it wouldn't make much difference as they are never around when you need them.

That doesn't mean I don't think the government are being unreasonable. They are and I would like the police to operate a no tolerance regime on all MP's and especially ministers to criminalise them just as they do us so they are no longer eligible to be in the House of Commons

That would be interesting wouldn't it?
