a lack of sufficient daily activity/exercise and a diet high in processed foods. a walk around the supermarket tells you the types of food that the average American has decided to consume. food manufactures wouldn't be selling of the the processed crap that they do if people weren't buying it as fast as they are making it.
humans are designed to ingest the flesh of animals and fish and foods grown in the soil, not highly processed man-made foods laden with chemicals and artificial ingredients made in giant factories.

Many people have undiagnosed hypothyroidism. The thyroid is your bodys thermastat. If it is to low,you have no energy, fatigue, feel cold, have cold hands and feet.Your metabolism is barely functioning,if at all.If you have hyperthyroidism, you can`t gain weight, may feel hot and have a rapid heartbeat, can`t seem to relax. Both are dangerous.Another reason skinny people can eat all the time and not gain weight,is they may have malabsorbtion problems. My son has this problem. He eats all the time,Everything goes in one end,and back out the other. He is very small for his age.Flouride and clorine are toxic to the thyroid. Also there is radioactive iodine from nuclear weapons floating around the atmosphere, and that is also toxic to the thyroid. Also most americans have a deficiency of iodine, and that can cause hypothyroidism. The standard tests to test for this are innaccurate, and people go undiagnosed.I believe this is contributing to the autism epidemic.A hypothyroid mom is in dander of having a baby with autism or other neurological problem.Check out these books by David Brownstein M.D. Overcoming Thyroid Disorders and Iodine Why You Need It Why You Can`t Live Without It.Also Check out Mary Shomon`s Thyroid group on yahoo groups, also the group Iodine.Another problem is our food supply is full of fat and no nutrition.

And referring to human beings as "fatties" is fair? Decades of altering the food we consume with additives, preservatives, MSG, and everything else under the sun. Not to mention, the "innovations" to everyday lifestyles that make us lazy, and the super-sized portions of everything we ingest everyday.
I think the nutritional information labels are also deceiving. The average person should consume 1200 to 1800 calories a day; However all the labels base there values off a 2000 calorie diet. Kinda a catch 22 if you ask me! Yeah that pre-packaged goodie label may say its serving is 6 chips/cookies and each serving has 200 calories, but it you re-evaluate the caloric balance, it is not such a great option after all.

One does not have to eat a lot of fatty foods to become fat. With technology has come physical laziness. Children are especially and, unfortunately, prime victims of this "technological laziness" (as parents sit idly by) they would rather stay indoors playing video games or television rather than be outside to ride bikes or climb trees. But many adults are guilty of allowing themselves to be victims of this "technological laziness" as well. It is not about fairness, it is about simple biology. Those few skinny folks who can eat and not excercise have a high metabolism. Stop paying attention to others while feeling sorry for yourself and enjoy being who you are and who you want to become later in life.

I dont think the portion of food that you eat doest matter. Some ppl like to eat unhealthy food like fast food and junk food, and lacking of exercise is also a big factor of obessity today.
