We were yesterday with a group of mates and her parents and brother and when we left the meal I said, "Lets go home, time to whip your knickers off"

Now she is not speaking to me. Come on, it was funny wasn't it? Is she being a bit over touchy?

Mmm. It was funny, but also a bit personal to be saying in front of her family .... next time try not to use such an obvious reference to sex. Say you want to buy her a helmet, and when she asks why, tell her you'll tell her later. And when later comes around, tell her it's because you're going through the headboard tonight, baby.

I mean, be creative!

OK, while I can see that she might be embarrassed at you saying that in front of her parents, not actually talking to you is very over the top.

She could have explained to you why she wasn't happy with that comment and asked you not to do it again - but giving you the silent treatment? Yes I think that is over the top. (And pointless, how can you have a good dig at your partner about doing something wrong if you won't open your mouth!!)

Personally I would find it fairly funny but then my husband and I both have very laid back parents - My Mother-in-law often says things like
"Oh I wasn't sure if I should call in case you were at it" and laughs - then my husband generally says
"But mum, we're married now, we don't do that anymore." looking very unconvincing lol!

While you are around parents/friends etc...romance makes a girl feel special. By going the hilarious lust thing....it downgraded your real feelings for her....or exposed them for what they actually are...ie showed them you dont love her...merely she is a receptacle for your penis. She'd be an airhead if she didnt take offence.

You are silly for showing your hand, even in jest. Kids are precious to parents and we dont like to think guys USE them for sex. Why did you put her down anyway? Respect means not kissing and telling (bragging). You put your ego (ooo Im getting laid, somebody likes me) before her feelings...and they could see that for what it was. You care about YOU more than her. Thats not very nice.

If you said it without anyone hearing then yes I'd say she was overreacting but if you said it in front of her family then she's bound to be embarassed!!

When my fella says stuff like that to me I normally slap his behind all the way home!! mmmeeeeoooowwwwwww

Well, that's girl attitude, you have to pampered all the time..if you say something that makes her hurt......YES...she will not speaking to you the whole day. So, you will end up of confusing. Now the best thing to do is to say sorry if you said that so...then give her hug + kiss and everything will be fine....that's girl very sensible for no reason. ....

She is being touchy. If my boyfriend said that to me, I'd reply "not if I whip yours off first!"

That was completely embarrassing for anyone, you were in front of her mother and her brother and her friends, everyone could hear what you said and it wasnt even a tasteful joke it was dirty, obscene and deserved one of those "slap face" moments. I'm saying that was such a jerk thing to do and say, treating her like a piece of meat even if you didnt intend that, hope you do some grovelling and some apologies to everyone you embarrassed her in front of.

I cannot understand how she could have failed to been amused by that comment in front of all and sundry!

(p.s. If he cant see it then there is no hope!)

I think time to apologise big time and then the big cuddle after. U r never too big to apologise.
