Ask a Christian.

When we have heard a lie often enough we tend to believe it and it becomes truth for us. Ask any atheist why he believes in evolution. They have convinced themselves that it is the truth.

Does the same go for faith in God? No, God has proved Himself true over and over again. He told Abraham that his descendants would be enslaved for over 400 years in Egypt, and then they would return to Canaan.
There are many prophecies in the Bible that have come true and there are many more that are still waiting to happen. No other religion has foretold what would happen and it came true with 100% accuracy.
You can read some further fulfilled prophecies in this blog:

"I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come."

God does exist that is my belief. You have to have a relationship with him. I'd counter and say how can people worship things that bring them more misery than joy.

Easy: Mental construct of god(s). It activates the emotional pleasure centers in their brains, and becomes like an addiction. Thinking about life without religion becomes painful to them.

Notice how all the various deities seem to be quite a bit like their followers? With their same prejudices and allowances?

Well they can't.

But if you asked a Catholic weather God existed, he would say "yes". So they are worshipping something that exists.

But then, this also stems into the idea that, by believing in God, you are creating God.

I agree. That's why I don't worship Odin, I only worship God and His Son Jesus, who DID come to earth to prove once and for all time that God IS real.
