Joe Louis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IDK about mentors.

I do recall that when he first went into boxing and approached a trainer, he was asked if he could catch a fly in mid air. The trainer asked him to try as a fly flew by. Joe couldn't catch it.
Trainer told him to come back when he could.

Joe came back in a couple days with a live fly in his hand.

He had a powerful punch.
I think the only other with a more powerful punch was Rocky Graziano. Even in a clinch with an opponent, he only needed about 8" to land a devastating blow. He could also take a lot of punishment.

Joe Louis never took a lot of punishment in his prime. He was too quick and able to protect himself.

Try typing in JOE LOUIS on any search engine. A good place to start would be Wikipedia.

I think it's safe to say that Joe Louis's main mentor was his trainer Jack Blackburn, and to a lesser extent, his promoter, Mike Jacobs.
