they are very near to them they are just on the north pole, i suggest that the US ought to rescue them before it's too late... there's no need to depend on other countries but since they are so close to them they might as well do their part to safe these animals...and those in Alaska too.....sometimes we just have to give in to help others, there's a miracle behind all this.....

Because the current Bush regime refuses to admit that global warming is even true or a threat. Why doesn't Canada? It's thier territory.

Err, Polar Bears are mostly in Russia and Canada... The USA can't disrespect these borders without the rest of world going crazy and killing a bunch of American citizens. So maybe the Russians and Canadians should check out the condition of their polar bears first...

By the way, there is no problem that I can find with the populations of these animals. They seems to be holding out just fine.

1. Penguins are ANTARCTIC. As far from the US as you can get.

2. Why not Canada? They are even closer?

3. Once you "rescue" them, what do you do with them? Put them in zoos? Do you really want to have no wild polar bears?

4. It takes $ and there is no current political will to divert resources to something like that in the US currently.

Why don't you save them? Put your money where your mouth is. You contribute to "global warming" by just existing.
