As a Muslim/Muslimah, it's HARAM for us to touch different gender who's AJNABI... How you turned down people who want to shake hands with you ? How about in special or formal occasions, how you deal with this?

Tell them (the women) I can't shake their hand because I'm Muslim. Only had one who told me she felt offended.

When pressed, I insist that they understand I cannot oblige them and then excuse myself.

1st couple of years was rough because I took my shahadah close to 30 years of age, and use to, once in a while, slip and shake a woman's hand (I associated with women very freely before taking shahdah).

This happens at my job alot. I am a muslimah, and men need, whatever they really don't need to, shake my hand. That's what they think. Men like fire marshalls, business meetings, stuff like that when it is best in their eyes to shake. But I love islam and really don't care. But also I don't wanna offend anyone.

So I give a great smile and something like it was great working with you or something to that affect and then start moving on or move around alot. heheheh. But sometimes it's good to explain. So politely say, I'm sorry or I opologize but I am a muslima that doesn't shake hands with men." I try to say it in a sassy but agreeable way not to offend anyone.

Sometimes touching hands is inevitable when you take mail, pens, paper, etc. I trust in Allah ta'ala that he knows all my intentions and that he is All-Knowing and he is aware of all that I do.

How can any intelligent person believe this crap? The reason Muslims are so belligerent in their belief, is because they have it drummed it into them at an such early age so that to question the Koran or the word of Muhammed is almost an apostasy. Mindless, unthinking devotion. Do a bit of research on your hereditary beliefs and make a sane, intelligent conclusion ...

But to answer your question? Just stay out of any non-Islamic country. Simple.

Usually, I shake hands with males longer to stay out of the females. That's how I do. And if I'm forced to do it, I will not do it 'seriously'...lol...

All over the world, religion is popular. This is because we don't really know what kind of a world we are living in. We don't know what will happen to us in the next world. This makes us feel insecure. We are all in the same boat. Some of us like to believe that we are in bigger, better, more buoyant boats. Belief is a wonderful thing as long as it does not encourage ire towards those whose beliefs are different.

I wear niqaab so men don't offer their hand to me.

Before I started wearing niqaab if a Muslim man extended his hand to me my husband was usually around and would shake the mans hand and give him a little sign. If a non Muslim man (my moms minister once) extended his hand I just tell him that I don't shake hands with men. If they question it I tell them it is not about them it's for me.
