I picked up the rifle about a year ago, but haven't shot it much. It may be a good gun, but the trigger is really crappy. Where could I get a replacement one without getting another sks?

Here is a place which sells replacement trigger parts: http://sksparts.com/sksparts.html

If nothing is wrong with your trigger (other than it being heavy, creepy, gritty, etc) you can have it reworked here: http://www.kivaari.com/index.cfm/SKS_trigger_info They are supposed to be the best.
Or you can look at one of the many videos on the net and try to rework the trigger yourself. Not recommended-it's very easy to inadvertently convert your gun to full auto (not good).

Kivaari is by far the best SKS trigger service. I have one of his triggers and want to get the rest done. It's amazing how much better people shoot with that trigger in side-by-side comparisons. You can even switch guns with the worked trigger group and the new gun will be in the 10 ring!

Additional places to check for TGA are Numrich and Sarco. I soak my trigger group assemblys in solvent and blow them with compressed air, then teflon oil them and blow with air. They were never designed as a target type trigger and have some creep; once you get used to them they are really quite good for getting the job done.
