I am from the ex Yugoslavia country.
I liked USA. We were leaned toward USA rather than toward the Russians.
USA pushed my people into a bloody civil war by supporting the Croats, Bosnian Muslims and Albanians against the Serbs. This brought 130,000 deaths and tons of depleted uranium.
So, now I hate USA and I will hate it for the rest of my life.
PS. To AFwife: I may guess that you are wife of some professional whose job is to kill obeying orders, and from there comes your peculiar ignorant-cocky attitude. This world belongs to us all, not just one group of people. Even when your husband spreads depleted uranium upon people you consider "others," it has a way of finding your children... By the time you realize that, it just might be too late.
Being surrounded by two oceans, today brings you only false security. Messing everywhere around the globe may bounce right back at you.
In Serbia 55% of people are against joining NATO.

Currently the U.S. and what used to be Yugoslavia's "home territory" is now Serbia so will address from that point are at a little of a pass; they don't like our support of Kosovo and we aren't going to let them use force to keep the area. So we are not allies but we aren't enemies either. Yugoslavia was always more independent of the Soviet Union but had to keep itself stable and together so the Russians wouldn't get nervous. On a person basis the few Serbians/Yugoslavians I have met seem to like Americans and America in general.

Yugoslavia no longer exists. Following the break up of Yugoslavia x republics exist in its place. They are:
a. Serbia
b. Croatia
c. Montenegro
d. Macedonia
e. Slovenia
f. Bosnia
Each of these new republics has its own relations with the USA, but it would be fair to say that Serbia's relationship with the USA is particularly bad.

The US would totally crush Yugoslavia, especially if Yugoslavia had the same levels of ethnic fighting that they experienced when they did break up.

Yugoslavia doesn't exist anymore. It has been separated in many peaces:Slovenia,Croatia,Bosnia and Herzegovina,Macedonia,Serbia and Montenegro.
If you ask Croats or Slovenians, they will probably say that they do like the US,since USA helped them in their war against Serbia. If you ask Serbs, don't expect any nice words, since USA bombed Serbia in 1999.As for Macedonians,Bosniaks and Montenegrin,I am not sure.
I am a Serb and I HATE USA WITH ALL MY HEART after they bombed us back in 1999. because we were defending our homes and churches from Muslim extremists.I will never forgieve them that.I used to like USA a lot before that, but that feeling is behind me now.I only feel hatred towards the west now.

We ( Yugoslavia does not exist any more, I am answering as Serbian ) adopted MacDonalds and CocaCola from USA.
And that is the only common point we have.
I liked USA when I was a child ( long ago in last century ).
Now I have brains of my own and I can't like my enemy ..... can't like people who spread death and support the bunch of terrorist to steal our land ...... and I am not alone .....

They hate Bill Clinton.
Bill Clinton bombed Yugoslavia, (AKA: Serbia) and created a situation which allowed Islam to take over in the Balkan Peninsula...
Bill Clinton also did nothing as radical Islam spread throughout the world primarily because his administration was governed by public opinion polls..

I'll stand by my (country)man - aeiou_i and confirm everything he said on the subject. I share his point of view. We were raised in the spirit of being an equal partner in the community of countries, now we feel we have been betrayed for the sake of interests.
