Fancy dress bomb scare at school.
A south Devon college has been evacuated after a pupil brought in what is thought to be a bomb as part of a fancy dress costume.
Police were called to Dawlish Community College at 0925 GMT after the suspected mortar was reported.
The bomb was placed by staff in the school quadrangle, while officers told people in the immediate area to leave.
A bomb disposal team from Devonport Dockyard have been called to the college.
A Royal Navy spokesperson said the device was thought to have come from a fancy dress outfit as part of the school's mufti day.
Joe Head from the Devon and Cornwall Force said: "The rest of the school has not been evacuated as it's believed the round is an incendiary device and not a high explosive round."

Police closed part of a Devon college this morning when a student took a suspected mortar round to class.
An area of Dawlish Community College was evacuated just before 9.30am today. Staff placed the device in the school quadrangle.
A Royal Navy bomb disposal team from Plymouth has been called to the scene along with two fire crews - one from Dawlish and one from Teignmouth.
The incident is believed to involve a 51mm white phosphorous mortar.
A 600m exclusion zone has been set up around the area.

iam a student at the school want happened was about 4 months somebody brought in a mortor round then a teacher found it and put in the quad nd called the fire bridagde and it was a phourphous flare or somehting
