a little like my writers, and even photography block.
Ive a dulce and a double dulce with half begun, and almost finished landscapes.
I keep replacing my light bulbs but I just can't get back to them it seems so all in vain, even though I thank G-D for my abilities.
For so many years I could hardly draw, much less consider painting ,yet almost all of a sudden 3 years perhaps 4 ago I began and strangers, friends, all said the same how good they were,at first this gave me boost.
But now I feel it has no real purpose.

What about your paintings gave you satisfaction? Was it just the praise of others? You need to figure out first why you liked painting.. then decide if that alone is worth continuing.. If your looking for inspiration then try traveling a little, get involved in activities out side of painting or art and incorporate those things into your art work...

When I am in a funk and don't know why I am not inspired, the first thing I do is clean up the mess in my studio. I usually run across something than gives me an urge to use it, it may be a type or color of paint, it may be a piece of equipment or a type of paper (support). If that still doesn't work, I sit down and turn on the music and start leafing through books and magazines until it hits me! Wow, I could do something like that only better!!
For me it is the process of painting more than the product, I find something to "play with" and sometimes it turns out to be a great piece of art. Other times, it turns out to be something I put away until another day and another idea how to resolve the problem. Then sometimes it goes in the garbage but I had fun doing it!

I get that plenty. For me, it happens while a most important lifechange occurs. I consider there may be such a lot likelihood that all of it type of clogs up my creativity. I'm going via an inventive block proper now actually. I would not be concerned. Nor will have to you place strain on your self to consider of whatever. I'd say, learn the newspaper...and literature, and concentrate to tune. Go for walks in areas you will have in no way particularly been. Sometimes you ought to are living a bit bit and glean a few strategies and critiques earlier than some thing particularly nice will strike you. Just convey a stack of napkins and a pen....that manner, there is not even the strain of a sketchbook...however you can be capable will have to a huge proposal pop into your head. Just do not fear. You'll get whatever. Take center.

Painting can give you a sense of escape or happiness when you see what you made you just have to remember why it was you painted
but try looking for more things to paint by the sounds of it you seem to stick to painting the same sorts of things (might have that wrong) but if that is the case try looking at painting different things or going different places so at least the scenery you paint will be different maybe

I typically never have this problem because my paintings are inspired by the people I have known and dreams. Basically I think about someone and then I get an image in my head and then paint it. You could try this, i think it works really well. You could also try painting or drawing things in your life.

Hope your block goes away! good luck!

You prabably are having a block because your not sure what ypur painting for. Are you going to sell them, or try to sell them? Very frustrating I am in the same position. I was gun ho a month ago and now I can't get started. I am having trouble knowing why I should if I struggle to make money from my work.

painting helps me relax...i love to paint with acrylic and oil. Sometime i get a painter's block but only for a week or two. If i lay my painting in front of me for day on end, i eventually go back to them and change/add things to them. Use different techniques than want you normally use or combine your techniques and other techniques to see what you like. Just experiment with it.

Painting is like travel. Some do it for the journey, some for the destination.

I took a year off to develop my "eye" & pursue other interests. When I got back into it, I found my stuff to be higher quality & more enjoyable. "Forcing it" was just NOT productive!

It becomes work. It happens.

You should not mind any purpose what so ever. It will come to you when it comes to you.

It is like traveling. If you don't move you don't get anywhere.
