Descartes and others have tried but their proofs aren't convincing.
Patriarchal monotheistic societies are going to come up with male deities. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

God is not a person. God does not have a gender as God is not part of the created world.
The difficulty with a question like this, and so many similar ones, is that we do not agree on words like 'evidence' and 'proof'. In one sense God exists - he exists in the minds and thoughts of millions of people who are Christians. Call him something slightly different like Yahweh or Allah, and he exists in more people. Does anyone want me to prove that?
But the questioner seems to want more. There is a request for some other evidence. The general method for a scientist to proceed in this case is to make some form of prediction and then test it. If there was a God ... would happen. Does it? Yes, there is a God or no, there isn't a God.
The bible attempts to do it but is treated by suspicion by those who don't like it. For instance, did Jesus predict his death? Some would say he did, some would say he did but because he knew he was going to provoke the authorities so it was self fulfilling. Others will say he didn't. It was all written down afterwards. So how does this help?
Let me now be provocative: -
As a disciple of Christ I prophesy that God is angry with the US administration because of the killings in Iraq and their refusal to do anything about Global Warming and as a result God will harden the hearts of the American people so that the next President will be a Democrat.
Why will you not believe in God when a Democrat is elected to the White House?

WE can't prove the existence of God, but GOD can, if He would just come down to Earth and reveal Himself for once. Or at least talk to us from the sky in His so-called heavenly voice.

Leibniz (1646-1715), a German philosopher, devoted a great deal of intellectual energy in trying to prove the existence of a god. I disagree with his proofs, but they are nevertheless interesting and worth checking out. As far as my personal beliefs go, I believe in the gods and I don't feel any need to prove them.

God is Spirit.
You can only prove that God exists to yourself. Others can BEAR WITNESS that God exists within them by loving their neighbour as themselves.
God is 'personified' as a 'Father' figure for the following reason:
A male is a 'male' one aspect of the Spirit.
A female is 'female' another aspect of the Spirit.
Now a male is only a male until it unites with a female and brings forth a child.
Then, the male becomes Father and the Female becomes Mother and there is a child.
The term 'Father' therefore indicates the inclusion of Male, Female and Child' - the 'trinity' Father, Mother Child.
In Christian teachings, this has become Father Son Holy Spirit - the Holy Spirit being the 'feminine' aspect of God.
In Meta-Physics this trinity is described as; Mind, Idea, Expression.
The ONLY way you can really know 'if' God exists is to receive the POWER of the LOGOS as it is spoken by one in whom it dwells and allow the Logos to transform you.
THEN; God will reveal the Divine Essence of Life to You and it will burn in your heart.

The fact that you are merely asking this question is proof that God exists. God made you to be an intellectual human being that wonders about such things as the existence of soul's and the afterlife. If evolution were true, then why aren't horses studying their bodies and wondering the same question? I find it interesting that people can come leave an answer saying "there is no such proof" and yet gives no evidence on why that statement is correct. ;) My small piece of wisdom

I just finished answerring some questions on God, feel free to read my answers, so I wont type so much here . But God is an aware Conciousness. Which exists within every moment that you feel Love. When you feel Love, that is God existing within you. Emotion is equal to E+Motion=Emotion or Energy in Motion. Thats what we are. Is energy in motion, our emotions dictate exactly how we react to life. What we see and believe is a reflection of what we choose to observe to believe. And our focus is determined by our emotion. We are essentially Emotion, constantly. And there fore us being created in "Gods image", is God IS an Emotion, just as we are Emotion itself.

God is a very powerful spiritual force that has been around for at least without reckoning to sum it all up about 500 billion years old.
The Bible can't even go back that far and learn about God.
Today it's Jesus that is the biggest role, the Son of God and that should tell you all of it in a nutshell.

It was human males who "created" This god, no wonder they made god in their image.
The beauty of this "creation" is that it can "exist" without a shred of evidence, but on the pure gullibility of humans.
