I am a 21 year old New Zealand Caucasian guy. I'm 6.3" and weigh 70 Kg. For some reason I just can't gain weight despite regularly downing large Pizzas by myself and indulging in an array of fatty and healthy foods. I eat regularly and I eat a lot yet still I have not even managed to fluctuate my 70 Kg weight from anything but 70 Kg.

I do exercise by running a few kilometres once a week and lifting weights every second day but that is it. My main goal is to build muscle mass but I'm so skinny so all I can get is definition.

How can I gain weight to eventually gain muscle mass?

I'm tired of being a lightweight. Ideally I would like to be around 75 - 80 Kg.

Proteins are required for building muscles, so having high protein foods like eggs, milk, peanut butter, protein shakes will help. If you are a very active person, you should learn to relax, which will slow down your metabolic rate.

Muscle mass = high calories, more intake than you burn, fact.
Start the day with a good breakfast, oats with milk and a high carb shake plus fruit. From then on you want to eat 6-8 times a day. I dont mean a bannana, i mean real food, a meal. If you cant , again have a high carb, high protien shake twice a day.
As for the gym.. no more than 30-40 minutes per muscle.. heavy weight (final set the most you can do, if britney spears(when she was hot) said shed strip and pleasure you if you do one more rep.. you wouldnt be able to do it.. ask for a spotter) 3 sets between 6-9/10 reps, 3-4 exercises. After workout have a high carb, protien shake and an hour or so after that.. EAT. Its amazing how much good food you can eat while workingout and not gain a pound. Every few weeks change to a light weight high rep workout, 3 sets 10-14 reps.
Remember your body builds during the days AFTER you workout, get atleast 3 days FULL rest for each muscle.
i know a lot of bug guys who run in the gym too BUT if its hard for you to gain weight right now id stop any cardio for a while.

May not be what you want to hear but:
You're not eating nearly enough. You should eat 5-7 meals at 2-3 hr intervals. That's right; eating all of the time nearly! I knew guys that even woke up in the middle of the night to put down 500-800cal. Also, doing this will keep your GH and IGF levels naturally high. Eat fresh foods w/ good protein like chicken, fish or even lean beef coupled with good carbs like pasta, potatoes and fruits. Also, supplements like weight gainers can have almost 1000cals a serving. At one point I was having 3 of those in addition to my meals. Also, if you want to gain wt, stop the cardio. You're burning cals!
Finally, if you don't want to gain muscle you can either, a.become an alcoholic or b.get married. Choice "b" worked for all of my female acquaintances growing up. Seriously, you need to eat A LOT more, like 5000-6000cal a day. This is no easy task and not as much fun as you'd think.

Protein!!!!! Forget about those pizzas, boy, you need steak, eggs, vegetables ..... All these go into building muscle.

By the way, there are a lot of people out there who hate you right now ..... if you get what I mean.
