This guy was in a relationship with a girl for 2 years. They were planning to get married. He met me 3 months after they decided to split. He dated me for 3 months. I think we had a great connection, but I had trouble believing he was over his ex. He dumped me and found a new girlfriend in a few weeks. Whats going on here? What is with guys that go from one relationship to the next? He is only 23 and seems anxious to get married (since his last 2 headed towards that....)

Usually its a distraction, the human heart doesn't forget well, it can deny, but it needs a distraction. So really, it could be a constant line of rebounds. The whole rebound thing is based on a purpose of getting into a relationship BASED on the last relationship. Sort of like, well if she won't marry me I'll found someone who well! So its driven by the past relationship. Its hard to explain, but just because some one isn't there doesn't mean they don't influcence our choices. But that aside, sorry, ouchie, not a good way to be treated! Listen to your instincts next time, you've got some good ones....
