I work with this woman who is a two faced, social climbing, judgemental, spiteful, brown-nosing old cow and she really annoys me. I find her annoyingness has a cumulative effect, rather than it just going away at the end of the day. She talks about her kids (who are my age, in their 20s) ALL THE TIME and while I try not to listen, she repeats the kid stories to EVERYONE who comes in, so I hear them about 20 times. Some nights I wake up at 3am or so thinking of her kids. This wouldnt be so bad but she is mean and purposely tries to make me feel bad ie if I have something new, then she'll say something like "ohh (daughter's name) was never into that thank goodness she was always very mature about spending her money", or "well actually my daugther is getting THIS one as she makes $200 a day you know and only wants the best" and crap like this.

Do other people have these issues at work? How do you deal with them? Is it ok to punch her? lol

Keep talking abou this woman younknow who has cancer and how the children she was sure loved her have dissapeard from view and not helped her . She will say she could rely on her children helping her just keep on and on about it
And often it is the well to do children for instance earning $200 per day that think of only the money not thier parent because the parent has made the child so concious of money that thatht is thier God ( that should give her some guilt as well . Probably this woman is divorced Whod want to live with a boring old ***** like that , obviously why she fixated on her Miracalchildren work on the pain of her divorce and say how much men so easily recover from it tham women it will make you seem sypathetic whilst you gatehr more evidence

I've just resigned from my job because I can't stand a woman there. I've been there nearly six years, she started six months ago.
I just got to the stage where I figure life's too short to put up with rude, obnoxious people. She's not going to change her attitude so I'm changing and guess who's happier?
MEEEEE!!!!!!!
I'm going to visit people at an old folks' home, play golf and hang out with people I like - so much better than working.

Sorry, none of that was helpful to you but I'm so happy with my decision I'm getting a bit painful myself I suspect.

When your cow starts mooing about her perfect daughter, get a tissue and say "Bullsh*t" into it, so it sort of sounds like a sneeze. She won't be able to accuse you directly but even if she only suspects, it will cheer you up every time!

Allergies? What allergies?

The way I deal with it is to disengage. I try to carry on with work and act as if nothng the person says affects me in any way. It drives that kind of person nuts when you don't react. I keep a completely neutral attitude with the person, or pretend like I don't hear them when it comes to non-work related conversation. If they say something hurtful, I might reply in a totally blase manner, "Oh really? That's interestng."

She sounds like a very negative person who is always unhappy and blames everyone else for it. She is probably without real friends and in her misery wants to make others unhappy as well. Avoid her as much as possible. Be polite and professional when you have to deal with her and don't take her behavior personally, she undoubtedly is stuck in her rut of being the company's Scrooge.

Try to stop engaging with her on a personal level. Keep your conversations to work-related issues and never discuss your personal life with her. Hopefully, the old bag will find someone else to bore to tears.

Definitely, everybody has someone they work with that they do not like, it is natural and you just have to deal with it.
