It does always say in scriptures, whether it be the Bible, the Torah, the Koran (Quran), or books contributed by other minor religious, that the savior or prophet of "God" is a man, but if this God is everything and the creator of everything, how can you refer to it as a "he?" It's universally known that "God" is intangible and beyond our knowing, yet most people still "know," think, or at least say it is a male?

Perhaps the reason is because religious text was written during the times when females were considered inferior? People still have borrowed those ideas and considered them to be true, and haven't given any thought to the real "justified" prejudice which is stated everyday, sadly.

So, why?

I have given this much thought and time in my heart. I have spoken of it and been shunned because of it. No one wants to admit that the organised religions of the world are wrong, and that the God were a Goddess. I have spoken this many times, and besides being belittled, and violated, was made to feel more inferior in a society which is predominately Patriarchal in nature. Religion has always been predominately Patriarchal as well.
I feel that God/dess is a most benevolent and love entity.
If you search the population, who are the caregivers, the loving people who make the world go around? The woman, the women. We are more benevolent, caring, giving, self sacrificing, and we do it because that is our nature.
Males are not benevolent and loving, that is not the first thing which you think of when thinking of man...right? I think of judgmental, hypocritical, and dominating...*sorry not meant to offend* :) Like in the bible, the God written about by men in the old testament, included wrath, revenge, unforgiveness. That does sound like man, but not God...*Again, no offense*

I could hug you for this question and every one you have asked today! I feel like God/dess gave me a new lease on life. Someone who finally gets what it is all about.
HUGS to you! Love and light!

Because the era it was written women were inferior to men. The reason "God" is still considered a male by most of the population is because sadly, women are still held back. Granted, not as much. But, if Joe or Jane is up for a management position who do you think will get it?
Statics have shown that it will most likely be Joe.

The question is hard because of the fact it sneaks interior the fake assumption that God got here from someplace and then asks the place that could desire to be. the respond is that the question would not even make sense. it fairly is like asking, "What does blue scent like?" Blue isn't interior the class of issues that have scent, so the question itself is fallacious. interior an identical way, God isn't interior the class of issues that are created, or come into existence, or are brought about. God is uncaused and uncreated - He in simple terms exists. How do all of us be attentive to this? properly, all of us be attentive to that from not something, not something comes. So if there became ever a time whilst there became unquestionably not something in existence then not something might have ever come to exist. yet issues do exist. for this reason, considering there could desire to in no way have been unquestionably not something, something had to have continuously been contemporary. That ever-contemporary factor is what we call God.

There are many religions in which there are Godesses. In Hinduism the world said to be born out of the interation of Purusha and prakriti. Purusha being the male principle and prakriti being the female principle. Even in china you have reality being formed out the male and female life forces of yin and yang. Other than that there are Hindu goddesses like Durga, parvati, lakshmi etc..

Why did the one who inspired to write the first edition of Bible put it as a He. Has he/she been inspired by God as a He?

Because you are personifying God and a person of unknown gender is always a male. Just like a ship is always a female.

Think about french or spanish etc, where every noun has a gender assigned to it.

BISMILLAH HIRRAHMAN NIRRAHEEM,

I am first Muslimeen [ follower]. In Surrah Maryem Allah has informed about Maryem's Mother Dua [pray], in that Dua she had used word " Inni" for her self, Allah has used both of words "Ana' and " Inni" for his self. Allah hasn't said " I am male or female", He said " I am Allah, and tell to all that Worship only Me". If you don't know about gender than what will you use the word for.....?

Because men have big egoes.

The funny thing is evolutionary biologists think that the females came before men. If you think about how we track our lineages, we use mitochondrial dna from the maternal line to track our ancestors, not the male's.
