dont be in a rush to be grown! lol, i am only 20, and i still live with my mom, and i wish i was back in elementry school with nap time and no responsibilities but making a picture as your homework. beleve me when i say that when you gain all this responsibility, you cant give it back, infact, you just end up gaining more. i believe you when you say you know about the "real world", and i did too.
you know the consiquences are bad if you dont pay your rent, but speeking as a young person who has been there, it is scary as s*** when those people come to your door to evict you. you may be the smartest person in your school, and this may not be true for you personally, but i believe 16 year olds in general are not ready to be on their own, and have the responsibility to live for themselves. i doubt i could live on my own now, not because of responsibility, but because i have so much to pay for, and i am taking care of my mother and some of her expenses, as i make more than her.
i, the 20 year old, am not ready to jump into responsibility galore, its enough paying for my own car, insurance, working 50 hours a week, and going to a class on the side. its not easy. i am not trying to lexure you, and you may be as fine a man as my fionce' is, but in my eyes, its not time to dive into the pool, just edge your way in, little by little. you will thank me if you do. you dont want all this responsibility and then just collapse due to overload.
hope this answers your questions

Just because everyone is calling you smart etc. does not mean that you have to be a 'know-it-all' ! It just means you are smarter than other 16 year olds, perhaps better in academics etc. At 16 most people don't live on their own and need the support and advice of their parents and elders, so don't get into a flap about these things and get on with your life! Good luck!!!

You can be really smart, move out, be independent
BUT - when the fridge is empty, it's freezing, you live miles from family and your next pay is three days away..... living on your own sounds a lot less cool - smart or not

Josh, ol' buddy, you have more to learn. Your grammar and spelling attest to that, as well as your age, and lack of experience. If you really ARE smart, you'll study about what constitutes maturity. Think about that for a while. At 16 we think we are, but we aren't.

From personal experience, when I was 18 I thought I knew everything. When I was 21, I realized I had a lot to learn and my parents were very intelligent people.

.You know you are a smart kid and that you are growing well into adulthood. Take your time, study well and when you have graduated from a college course, find a good job . When you are ready go ahead and enjoy your life.

You've got a long way to go....when I was in college for the first time, with no one to depend on, thats when I learned how to do things for myself, and thats when I learned how to appreciate my family more. I grew up real fast!!!
