Beer/fermented beverages are this simple...

Water + Sugar + Yeast/Bacteria + Time = Done

Those sugars can be anything ranging from malt syrups to fruit juices.

For beer I'd start here, it walks you through step by step.

All you really need is a bucket and a pot.

Its real easy to make. if you can boil water, you can brew beer. Many homebrew stores sell homebrew kits that include everything you will need to brew and bottle your own homebrew.

For beginners, you can get these cans of malt syrup that you mix with some water, bring to a boil. (This saves you the steps of getting grain and letting it sit a specific temp to convert the starches to sugars.) Ge the prehopped cans of syrup so you don't have to boil for an hour or add your own hops.

So...go get this can of prehopped malt syrup, put it in some hot water so it will pour out easier (it's thick like honey) add it to a gallon or two of water and bring to a boil. You will want to watch this and stir it bacuse a boil over can happen fast and that really sucks and you don't want your syrup burning on the bottom of your pot. After it hits a boiling point, turn the heat off, remove the pot from your stove and let it cool. I usually stick it in a big tub of cool water to help this cool faster.

When cool, Pour into a fermenter, add some beer yeast cover your fermenter and attach an airlock (let CO2 gas out but not in) and wait about 2 weeks.

After 2 weeks Siphon this liquid into a bucket, add some sugar water, put into bottles, wait another couple weeks and then you have some decent beer to drink.

By the way, be sure to keep everything sterile and clean when you do this. This is very important...but don't worry ... it's not that hard. Some people spend all kinds of money for special cleaning agents, but regular dish soap and hot water will do the trick.....they didn't have all these special chemicals 100 years ago and they still made beer right?

Hope this helps.

in case you have already got a lager equipment the least confusing and budget friendly way is to easily purchase the premade can of the fashion of beer you like(ale, bock, and so on.) then purchase the yeast and the bag of sugar and you're good to flow. The cans fee everywhere from $8-$25 and the yeast, sugar and bottle caps fee around $6-$10 for those so for around $35 you will get the uncomplicated components. The bottles you will get at any bar in simple terms say you will recycle them for you and that they frequently permit you to've them. One time is it for that considering you could reuse the 12 oz.. bottles constantly as long as you disinfect them after each and each use. One 5gal batch ought to make you around 2 circumstances if I remember properly. So $35 for 2 circumstances of beer is low fee for me. It takes longer to flow interior the direction of the brewing technique.

Start with a basic book. Papazian's New Complete Joy of Homebrewing is my favorite. You can either find a local homebrew shop for equipment, supplies, and advice or pick up the basic equipment on eBay and then go to the homebrew shop. The proprietor will be very helpful on getting you started, in hope of selling you supplies in the future.

Look for a local homebrew store, they can sell you all you need. Maybe $100+, not sure I got my stuff 15 years ago. Sometimes they have brew classes held by a local brew club. I attended basic brew, interediate brew, and adv brewing. It is alot of fun.
