The Personality of Godhead is perfect and complete, and because He is completely perfect, all emanations from Him, such as this phenomenal world, are perfectly equipped as complete wholes. Whatever is produced of the Complete Whole is also complete in itself. Because He is the Complete Whole, even though so many complete units emanate from Him, He remains the complete balance.

I have purchased a copy of the Upanishads translated by Eknath Easwaran. Will be reading it in the near future. What translators do you recommend? What am I paying attention to as I read it (what is its main focus)? Looking for the best information from the best translations. I appreciate Shanky, who makes so much clearer to me. Hinduism is a huge bite for a non-native. Thank you for so many revealing questions. I am Sirius

sri.Yaagjnavalkya's Taittriya Upanishad. It is not because of "Favourite" .My family is tied up to that Upanishad for 1000s of years and compulsorily to be recited during all religious functions starting from:- "Sanno Mitra Sam Varunaha--Sanno Bhavadturyamaam" ---"a few verses , which I like very much are (1) "Namastay Vaayo-Twam Eva Prathyaksham Brahma(n) asi" =O! swami Vaayu!! you are verily the Brahman. ( I am wasting my time in search of Brahman, when you gently touch me and say "I am here").(2) Sahanaa Avathu-Sahanau Puanakthu-Saha Veeryam Karavavahai--Tejasvi Naha-"-sri.Yaajgnavalkyaa while asking the blessings for him has NOT forgotten to ask blessings for his Guru (teacher) also.

Mandukya Upanishad!

Mandukya Upanishad explains Om with four states of consciousness -

1. Wake (Jagrat) state, where full ego gets identified with gross material body and karma comes into play, because "I" becomes doer and enjoyer.

2. Dream sleep (Swapana) state, partial ego gets identified with casual body and subtle body. No doer and only enjoyer remains.

3. Deep sleep (Sushupti) state (no dreams), dormant ego gets identified with casual body and there is neither a doer nor enjoyer. Maximum peace without senses and mind, with no concept of time, space and unit.

4. 4th satge (Turiya) stage means total absorption. This state is whole and encompasses all the above three states. It is transcendental, non-dual and supreme bliss.

First 3 starte are experienced by all of us in our normal day to day life. 4th stage is to be discovered in meditation.

Each state exists, but negates other's experience and objects. For example dream-thirst cannot be quenched with real water. Though deep sleep experience is without mind and senses, but joy of deep sleep is incomparable to sensual pleasure. In deep sleep, ego is dormant, but still there is an experience-r (Separated Consciousness) other than ego. After deep sleep is over, one wakes up, gets associated with ego - again manifests duality and the Universe!

The above four states have been mapped with Om -

OM is the sacred symbol and is the representation of Cosmic Consciousness and It’s manifestation i.e. creation, sustain and re-cycle. Om is the combination of following sequence of root sounds -

1. Akara is the sound of “A”, which represents wake state, which is known Virat.

2. Ukara is the sound of “U”, which represents sleep state, which is known as Hirnyagarbha.

3. Makara is the sound of “M”, which represents deep sleep state, which is known as Ishwara. Sound of Makara resembles the post-vibration after ringing the temple bell.

4. Sound of silence, the vibrations and pause after Makara represents the 4th stage. Sound of silence or emptiness is the substratum, on which the music of Akara, Ukara and Makara is made. Silence is the beginning-less and end-less non-existence, from where the sound of Akara, Ukara and Makara has originated and merged back. 4th stage is known as Bhram, the non-manifested form of Ishwara.

Love and peace

Favoritism among Gods leads to jealously and arguements. Why can't all things be treated as life itself instead of held higher than one another.
