i cannot see out of my left eye, but everything else checks out, i scored an 87 on the asvab, and i was wondering what jobs i would and would not be able to have in the marines because of this.

you are most likely PDQ'd. you must have minimum vision in EACH eye correctable to 20/20. Since every Marine is also a Rifleman, you most liklely never would be able to pass that part of the screening.

Your peripheral vision is probably not so good on the side of your bad eye, I would recommend you think long and hard about joining the Marines (even if they accept you), you will be a liability to your fellow Marines because of this. Think about driving or riding in a vehicle scanning for IEDs or other threats.

The worse you can have for correct vision is 20/20 in the better eye and 20/400 in the other. You have one eye that is 20/lp (light perception only). That's disqualifying.

If you're completely blind in one eye, they won't take you. You might be able to get a job as a civilian contractor, but that's as close as you're going to get. Sorry, dude.
