i had hair very similar to yours, and cut it short, and i love it! Just because other people have hated cutting their hair doesn't mean you will. And just because you hair looks great how it is, which it does, is no reason not to try something new.

Especially if it's something you really want to do and will always wonder about, because if you do do it and hate it, it will grow back. But if you don't, you will never know, which to me is the worse kind of regret.

My advise would be to take you time, don't cut it short all in one go, instead find a hairdresser you can really trust and relate to, and every time you get your hair cut try a new style that is shorter then the last. That way you can decide when you want to stop, and experience a whole lot of different lengths and styles on the way. And if you hate it, you have less growing out to do.

If you want to, go for it. It's just hair, after all. It grows back. Besides, everyone needs a change every now and again.

You're probably getting some encouragement from your friend (sister, maybe?) with the pixie cut pictured next to you. Not saying you should go that short, but a bob would suit your face shape and features.

If you're that worried, you could always use hair imaging software, either for your computer or a salon that has it, to get an idea of how you would look with different short hairstyles before you take the plunge.

Good luck!

I think you should cut it. Life is too short to fuss over little things like whether or not to cut your hair. Go for it!! You might be hesitant at first but i'm sure later, you'll love it!! and besides, hair DOES grow back. But make sure if you do cut your hair, tell the hairdresser EXACTLY what you want in SPECIFIC detail. Because sometimes the stylist has a completely different vision than you and if you're not direct enough it wont come out the way you want.

i personally wouldn't do it!
i had long hair (about 3 inches longer than yours) and my husband suggested that i cut it because i would always look thru magazines and say how much i liked this haircut and that. so i did it and it only took about three days for me to hate it. so now i am trying to grow it out, which is going to take about 2 years. TWO YEARS!!! that is a loooong time!! short hair is just such a pain because you have to fix it and if you are in a funk you can't just put it up in a ponytail.

i literally used to just wash my hair and go to sleep with it wet and i would wake up with board straight hair that was perfect, now i have to blowdry or it flips out all crazy ways and i have to use hairspray and straighteners and curling irons and it is just now long enough for a ponytail (after 9 months)

Go to your haircutters place and see if they have any hair magazines. They usually have some lying beside the waiting chairs. Look through it to see if there's one you like-- the choices are numerous. Or try looking online and then when you see one that suits you, print the picture out and show it to your haircutter.

The one I listed in my source is a really pretty haircut that might suit you. (:

Well, if you really have the desire or feel the need to cut your hair, then don't go that short. At least, not at first.

maybe something this length?

or even this would be a cute short style to try. (:

The posh cut is really in right now, and personally...i dont like it. But I do like short hair and you would probably look older with it. Get a posh cut but not so choppy. LIke Kate Bosworths hair I love.

So cute! You are beautiful

I think you should take your hair, and loosley pull it back, and make it look like you have short hair. See if you like it. If you are REALLY sure about it, then go ahead! Layers would be cute too.
