Corona and Budweiser are the only types of beer I have ever tried and I can't stand to drink either of them. I love Smirnoff Ice but I want to find a beer that I like. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions about what different beers tasted like and what I should try that I might like.

In my experience the one slam dunk "different" beer that most girls that don't like beer do like is...

Lindeman's Framboise

It's low in alcohol and thus calories and pretty much tastes like raspberry juice. It also comes in Apple, Cassis (Currant), Peche (Peach), Kriek (Cherry), and Faro (Plain). It's distribution has been greatly increased in recent years so it should be pretty easy to find at any decent liquor/beer store. It's a style of beer called a "Lambic" although it's quite a bit sweeter than its traditional counterparts.

The previous recommendations of Blue Moon, and Leinenkugel's flavored beers are also decent selections.

Belgian beers are also a good suggestion but they're also very rich and strong for the most part so generally they're beers that you kind of have to ease in to. The yeast is also semi funky since it is for the most part an entirely unique strain.

While I would agree that you would like hard cider (like Hardcore), if you want give "beer" another shot.. try Leinenkugel's Berry Weiss, or Sam Adams Cherry Wheat....
I started with these exact beers when I claimed "I hate the "beer" taste of beer!! and now.... I really can appreciate the differences between different types of beer... (my absolute favorite is a seasonal made by Fox River Brewery, called Peaches.....mmmmm)

You are probably not going to like beer unless you learn to like it. You need to first begin to know the history of beer like where it was first made [Egypt] and what the beer was made for [to get you buzzed]. You then need to go on a tour of a major beer brewery [here is a link to all of Budweisers breweries http://www.anheuser-busch.com/Breweries.html] I would suggest a smaller one than that; like Jacob-Leinenkugel's brewery in Chippewa Falls, WI. It feels a little more at home than the big ones, still, it's nation wide. [http://www.leinie.com/home.htm] Then you need to take another sip of that beer that was made at the brewery you just toured, and think about what it means to you; standing and drinking beer from the vat right under your nose! You will then gain new appreciation.

Start to try micro-brews like Red Hook [http://www.redhook.com/] and try the seasonal beers that these type of brewers tend to make. A good place for this is your nearest Old Chicago! [http://www.oldchicago.com/RockBottomWeb/OC/index.aspx?PageName=/RockBottomWeb/OC/LocationFinder.ascx&SectionName=Root.LocationFinder] I am lucky and in my town have the old Fitgers building right down town. We have a bar called the Tap Room, obviously in the basement, and the Brewhouse which is up stairs. They have lots of micro brews (means small batches are made) and they go all the way up to 7% alcohol! Some are good, some are not.

The point is that there is quite a bit more to beer than just turning on your t.v. and believing everything that Coors and Miller Light tells you. They are fine beers and I drink them both, however, there is something much more complex that will dramatically change the decision you are about to make that can effect your beer drinking for the rest of your life. Embrace beer, with a warm grip, and a frosty mug! Cheers!

Don't drink crap beer like Corona and Budweiser. Try some good European ales -- Trappist beers, like Chimay, or Kwak, or Rodenbach. They're good beers and you'll like the flavour.

Try Heinekin Lager, or Sam Adams Lager. Both are excellent beers, and if you find you don't like either, then probably you're just not a person who will like the taste of beer.

I'm not sure what type of beer you'd like, but you might try cider. It's kind of like beer but sweeter. Some common brands are Wyders and Hornsbys.
