I can answer this because I go to a Calvary Chapel.
This is the statement of faith from our church bulletin.
Calvary Chapel is a non-denominational fellowship associating with all who are in the body of Christ. We believe the only true basis of Christian fellowship is His agape' (its a Greek word for unconditional love) love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to call ourselves Christians. We believe the marks of maturing church are Faith, Hope, and Love. Therefore, we place a high emphasis on the teaching of God's Word, that our Faith my grow. Also, we live in anticipation of the return of Jesus, our blessed Hope. Finally, we desire the fullness of His spirit in our lives, for the fruit of the Spirit is Love. By our love shall men know we are His disciples.
Now as to what happens, We pray, we sing... a lot.... upbeat modern worship songs mostly, with the occasional hymn, then we hear the word taught. The minister teaches through the word in context, teaching an entire book of the Bible in order, (of course not all in one Sunday, except for really short books like Jude) usually the minister will alternate between Old Testament books and New Testament books and teach them verse by verse. This is different from many churches that jump around the Bible in topical fashion. We cross reference, but always come back to the book we are on for the basis of the teaching. Communion usually happens about once a month, not every Sunday.
The church is very casual, usually its more of a "come as you are" feel than a "better look you best" feel. We try to make everyone feel equally welcome, whether they are wearing a three piece suit, or chains and piercings.

Well, I go to Calvery Chapel of Poulsbo. It is a nice place. All the people are friendly, our Pastor, Pastor Joel, is very nice, but best of all it is a place where I can learn about God. We have communion, we are a Christan Church, and there are classes for kids and teens. Every Wednesday there is a Bible study. For some reason my Mom and Dad have tried a few other churches, but I love Calvary Chapel.

There are many Calvary chapel Churches scattered throughout the Us.
And Calvary Churches are one of the very best places to go to if you really want a Bible-based church.
I would give a lot to live close enough to a Calvary Church to be a regular member.

The most famous is perhaps Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa. Pastor Chuck Smith resides there.
Here are some of his sermons.

He is a Protestant preacher. Yes, they do have communion there. I would say that it was a better than average church to go to.
