You have to use an airless sprayer..not one that hooks up to a compressor..you will be there 4 or 5 days with a air assist... You need the type that has a nozzle that fits right down into the 5 gallon bucket..not a cup gun type..You spray it on heavily up and down..then you "cross it out" spray across way...but the first time stucco is sprayed, you need someone behind you doing what we call "back rolling" with at least a 1 1/2 inch napped roller on A pole. This fills alls the little voids, nicks, and crannies in the stucco..If You just simply spray it , it will not fill all the voids, as is necessary for a good looking job..Some people spray A clear coat sealer on the stucco first to seal it off..but you still have to "back roll" it..If it has been done prior to this and done properly with a Back roll..then you spray one direction, then cross spray the opposite as suggested above..Of course either use A spray shield or tape it and mask the windows and other areas you do not want paint on prior to spraying...Do not get to far ahead of the person rolling..or if you are doing it by yourself... spray from the top to bottom, and no further than about 10 feet in width at a time then back roll and spray some more..

The best way is to spray and back roll. Using an airless sprayer cover a small area and run over it with a roller while it is still wet. The sprayer gets the paint on the walls faster than a roller will and the roller forces the paint into the texture of the stucco better than the sprayer can. Don't skimp on the roller cover. Buy a good quality non shedding roller for the best results. If you will be renting the sprayer have the people at the rental store set it up with the right tip. For latex paint a 517 should work well.

Start with a small section (3x3). Spray vertically down, then back up. Then left to right, right to left. If the new color going on is different from the original...have fun! You'll have to brush and/or roll to get all the spots. And you'll have nightmares about "dabbing" the small spotting with your favourite brush! Been there, done that.

you got to make sure it will stick on the wall so maybe you want to use some kind of adhesive primer and make sure the surface is clean before you primer it, good luck.
