Why are there many Christian denominations that practice 'miracles' like speaking in tongues, slaying in the spirit, prophesying and preach prosperity? Didn't Jesus warn about apostasy in the Last Days?
The Bible says miracles will cease once Scripture is complete. No where does it say that miracles continue until today.

Can you please let me know the verse that writes that miracles cease once scripture is complete?

There isn't one.

Jesus said that the Spirit will be poured out in the last days. The young & the old will see visions & have dreams. Those who have faith will speak in new languages. They will pick up snakes & won't be harmed. They will drink deadly & it will not harm them. They will pray for the sick & they will be healed, Etc... 'Those with faith' (in Jesus). The apostacy is 'no faith'.

All the gifts & callings to ministries will continue until the fullness of the Church comes in. And that is when the Gospel of Christ is preached & published in all nations. And unto the Rapture. I believe the falling away 'great apostacy' happens after the rapture.

Give me chapter and verse where it says miracles will cease when the Bible is complete. It does not exist. There are two arguments commonly used to say tongues etc. have ceased. One is based upon 1 Corinthians 13:8-10. These verses say when that which is perfect comes that what is done in part will be done away with. These verses do mention tongues and prophecies. However it also mentions knowledge. So if you say these verses say that prophecies and tongues ceased when the Bible was complete so should knowledge have ceased. However as we know much more than they did 2000 years ago we can see knowledge has ceased. Thus this argument is invalid.

A second argument is that the gifts stopped when the last apostle died. The question is are all the apostles dead? The answer is no. Read Hebrews 3:1. We are told Jesus is an apostle. Thus the apostles will never die.

In addition to all these arguments against tongues ceasing. We are told in John 14:16 that the Comforter will abide with us forever. The Holy Spirit is the comforter and the one through whom the gifts come. So since He has not left neither have the gifts.

Finally read mark 16:17. We are told of signs that will follow those that believe. One of those signs is we will speak in new tongues. So Jesus instituted a sign of belief and then removed it? Doesn't make sense to me.

In light of all this can you still say the gifts have ceased? Have you ever prayed for the gifts? I have and I have also spoken in tongues. I also know of cases in which a person has spoken in tongues and someone there hears it in their own language. I also know of missionaries reporting distant tribes where people get the gift of tongues and begin to praise God in English when before they knew not one word of it and afterwards can still not speak it. The gifts have only ceased in those who do not seek them.

Show me that verse that says miracles will cease once scripture is complete please!! That is NO where in the Bible that I know of!!

The Bible accually teaches that He will continue to do miracles like the ones in the gospels and Acts until He returns and believe it or not He still does. Miracles have never ceased but the reports of them did. Many folks think there were no miracles in the dark ages but that is not true!

Yes, there will be some who do miracles that don't know the Lord or via the work of demons but the counterfet is a sign that the real exsists. God still saves and part of salvation includes Supernatural acts from healing to prophecy to signs and wonders.

You are referring to:

1 Cor 13:8-10
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
(KJV)

The other way to know that they have ceased is in the manner that they supposedly are used today.

Here is a simple question, if tongues have ceased, then why do Pentecostals need translators or learn foreign languages when doing ministry?
