If you practice for a couple weeks beforehand eating pickled jalapenos (hot, not mild ones); these could get you accustomed to consuming hot peppers straight . A lot of Anglos and Hispanics can do that easily so don't rely on your Indian - even South Indian - heritage to pull you through.
Also, you could chew a lot of cloves beforehand - they are good mouth numb-ers. I wouldn't recommend eating more than absolutely necessary to win. I'm hoping for your sake there's enough $ to make this worthwhile - as mentioned above, you'll feel it at both ends. Have your Preparation-H ready!!! =)

"Racial advantage??? I think not... it's how you're raised. I'm white and I've seen my brother eat thinks that would eat the rust of a car just with the fumes. If you've grown up eating spicy foods your taste buds get used to them."
lol
i dont think this person meant any harm by saying this.
my boyfriend is indian and i know how it is with them..and youre right, it is the way one is raised, but the fact is that MANY indian families are raised eating very spicy foods. so i agree with him that he's probably better suited for this competition than alot of his friends im sure;)
anyways i agree with the lady who said milk will help, although ive never had a habaneor pepper eating contest..i eat whole jalapenos and milk takes the sting off (and by the way im white:P), but im not sure if drinking it beforehand will help. but you should try it definitely!
and good luck :| youre going to need it! lol
happy holidays everyone :)

However, remember that your lips and throat are gonna be affected by the peppers to, due to the acids. I'd suggest chewing only for show. Bite the peppers chew once or twice then swallow and remember to keep the Pepto near by.

Try eating a bunch of less spicy peppers first. Maybe start with jalapenos, then eat some serranos, and so on.

Ever watch the Simpson? Homer eat a bunch of candel wax before eating one. It worked but then he started hallucinating.

ICE IT! (Only kidding)...
Actually drinking milk can give your tongue and mouth an extra coating of proteins to help minimise the heat sensations from the peppers...

Try a couple drops of clove oil on your tongue first and have a ton of antacids handy.
