Normal. Completely. Now, when he is 18, jobless, going to college part time, living at home and won't stop talking about Magic The Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons. Call in the brigade!!!

Yes it is normal. My 2 step sons are into Pokemon. And that is all I hear. My older son would draw pictures of Pokemon play with Pokemon toys. We would be in the middle of a conversation about anything like the weather and out of the blue a Pokemon story would be told. Hang in there. I know how it at times can almost drive you crazy, but it does stop. My older son is onto the next thing, now all I hear about are lizards.
And what is up with the comment about it being Satanic? Give me a break!!! It is a game for children nothing at all Satanic about it. My sons have played Pokemon for a while now and they are not Devil worshipers.

Our son is 9 and just over the summer got "into" these cards. However we are trying to get him interested in something SPORTS related because with Pokemon cards all they do is ATTACK (violence issues) and our son actually "acts out" things he gets immersed in. We just found them to be harmless...unless your son is like ours and literally tries to act out these "acts" that the Pokemon cards along with the game do. Normal? I'm sure other kids have them and they talk about them just like he does. If you are going to keep getting them for him I suggest an album if you've not already gotten him one..and also have him COUNT the cards..he can at least learn something GOOD from these cards.

It's normal. He will get over it.
My brother is 7. He has different obsessions. Some are longer than others. They are always passing fads.
Your son will eventually grow out of the pokemon craze and annoy you with some other obsession. It's obnoxious but it passes. Just don't encourage him by feigning interest.

Is my son living with you?? My son started talking about Pokemon about 4 years ago. I thought it was a phase. If it is, it's a long one. He has more cards than I can count. He knows every Pokemon, their evolution and at what level they evolve at. He constantly talks about them. It's a little frustrating for me at times, but at the same time I'm glad to see him passionate about something. Look on the bright side of it, at least you now know what a Bulbasaur or a Psyduck is.

You mean pokemon cards? Yeah, it's nice that he likes something and it's not abnormal for him to have some obsession with them...but it appears that he does need to be introduced to other things in life... I think once he sees there are other things in this world than the cards, he'll stop caring so much about them

Kids this age get super obsessed about things.
My daughter was all about the Pokemon cards... then school didn't let them bring them anymore (too many arguments about trading and the "I want it back"s)
Now she's obsessed with Webkinz. Never. Stops. Talking. LOL

I have a son who has ocd and all he has talked about for the past 8 years is cars. Beat that. He never, never, never stops, ever. No one understands how one child can talk so much and for so long. My son is 10 now.

He is 7 of cause it is normal until the next new fad comes along to grap his attention then he will talk about that non stop and before you know it he will be a teenager and talk about nothing to anyone and will keep himself locked in his room with loud music until girls come along and grap his interest.
