Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Mt 16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed

BLT_4 How on earth do you get part of three days and three nights if according to Jewish Custom the day portion of the day begins when there is light so if he died on Friday afternoon and actually rose during the dark portion of Sunday according to the record "early on the first day before it was light" Then thats only part of two days. and only two nights.
The problem is with "Christians" is that you are products of the public school system and haven't learned out to count to three.
(Tzadiq screams and tears out yet another handful of his hair having to listen to this idiotic tripe from people who pretend to know anything about scripture and the people and their customs that wrote their bible for them)
Very clearly he died on a Wednesday (try counting four days back and you will come to the day that you are to bring the lamb into you home and inspect it for defect and you are also on the day that Yahshua road into Jerusalem on a colt.. the lamb entering the house of Israel for inspection) Oh wait thats in the afternoon around three and was laid in the tomb before Sundown because the next day was a HOLY DAY and they had to have him off the cross by then. Wednsday night Thursday day Thursday night Friday day Friday night, Saturday day then guess what he arose before sundown and left the tomb around dusk. How would I know this. Because this is when the symbolic sheaf of barly was cut to offer up as the wave sheaf offering at the morning sacrifice the next day. So the first of the first fruits is harvested from the earth at dusk by tradition and the first of the first fruits of God leaves the earth at the same time. Remember no where does it say he rose on Sunday it says that Mary came to the tomb early (while it was still dark) on the first day and the tomb was ALREADY EMPTY. NO WHERE DOES IT SAY HE ROSE ON SUNDAY!
Repent! The kingdom of God is at hand!

Considering these scriptures. Matthew 28:1 ,Mark 16:2 ,Luke 24:1 & John 20:1.
According to Jewish custom part of a day counts as a full day.
Esther 4:16 & 5:1.
OR
Leviticus 23:5 to 7 People rest on the first day .
Perhaps the sabbath was not counted and Jesus died on a Thursday = Sunday Resarrection.
The only important date is Nisan 14 .

Prophecy: Jonah 1:17; 2:10
Fulfillment: Matthew 12:39, 40; 16:21;1Â Corinthians 15:3-8
Clearly, Jesus saw in the book of Jonah much more than a historical record of God’s dealings with Jonah, the prophet’s activity in Nineveh, and the result when Jonah proclaimed God’s warning message. Jesus realized that the prophet Jonah served in a figurative role, pointing to Jesus Christ, to his dying and then being raised on the third day. Furthermore, the Ninevites’ reaction offered a contrast—a contrast to how most Jews responded to Jesus’ preaching and works. (Matthew 16:4)
Jesus was in the tomb for parts of three days. His foes thus got “the sign of Jonah,” but Christ said: “Men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it; because they repented at what Jonah preached, but, look! something more than Jonah is here.” (Matthew 12:41) How true! The Jews had among them Jesus Christ—a prophet much greater than Jonah. Though Jonah was an adequate sign to the Ninevites, Jesus preached with far more authority and supporting proof than that prophet did. Yet, the Jews in general did not believe.—John 4:48.

In 'those days' a new day was considered to start at dusk rather than dawn. So, 'friday' began on what we would call 'thursday' evening. So, you have thursday night, friday night, and saturday night. You also have friday morning, saturday morning, and sunday morning. ...three days, three nights.
Although I think the story is a myth, I'm willing to give early Christians credit for the ability to count to 3.

There is nothing to reconcile. Jesus was predicting His time in the tomb when He spoke of the sign of Jonas.
