Since America The biggest Emitter of Carbon Emissions i.e. Polluter", does not believe in "Global Warming" as evidenced by blocking agreements in Bali., much like their position on slavery, land mines, cluster bombs and Kyoto, as they use arguments like, "there is Climate change on Mar"s, Uh! we don't live on Mars! and "this is a cyclical change, how do they know., where they here during the ice age? much like the arguments and B.S. for the wars they started to steal oil. Since Americans love their Guns and Humvees, and killing each other, as evidenced by the shooting rampages in Shopping Malls, churches and High Schools I say we encourage them.,
Not, to change sign up for agreements on Climate Change, but to support their bids to carry guns like "Cowboys", so they can shoot and killl each other whenever they like, and when they are all gone, they will have done their part in saving the planet. America Style. A good Idea?

No need to encourage them, they are doing just fine.
The real interest in this question is the level and variety of responses.
eg. The pope poo poos climate change... as leader of a billion people he said don't follow environmental dogma. OK, hopefully he will be ok if I say don't follow religious/chatholic dogma either. He suggests that we should instead follow the science...... Isn't that what Bali is about?
Or again the chappy who thinks its all a hoax, it is only natural cycles. Wake up, try actually reading and understanding the issue. This is a man caused situation, all the evidence says so. There is a huge volume of consistent evidence. Just as important none of the other plausible causes can explain the evidence. None of the natural cycles match this situation. The activities of mankind match it extremely well. Don't ask for proof positive as there is no such thing. You don't demand that level of certainty for anything else in your life, so why for this?
Do you refuse to fly on a plane unless you can be guaranteed that it will not crash? Same for bus, car, or a walk in the park. Can you be guaranteed that you will not be struck by a meteor? Every day you make decisions based on the weight of evidence and probability of events. This is just the same, for all practical purposes when something is extremely likely to occur we take it for granted that it will. So while there is no guarantee that G. Bush will still be pres of US tomorrow, we arent expecting it to be different. We make the perfectly valid assumption thet he will be and move on. Same with global warming caused by humans, we look at the evidence, evaluate it and come to the conclusion that while we cannot proof 100% that that is the case, it is inconceivable that it is not, so we accept it and move on.
By the way if people are wondering just why there is so much anti americanism, well maybe its because the 7 billion non americans in the world are tired of being told what to do by bully boy 300,million americans and allowing them to continue destroying the lives of the rest of the world.
Might be different if America could/would guarantee to compensate for losses as a result of its anti GW policy. The atmosphere is a global resource, climate is a global issue. By refusing to act on policy now America is potentially causing increasing global warming which will probably result in people suffering additional hardship including additional deaths. This is not about missing out on some luxury or other, it is a life and death issue for many.
So is America prepared to say, we do not believe it is a man caused issue and we do not believe that our continued pollution of the atmosphere will cause any problem. If so are they prepared to sign up to an agreement whereby if they are in future proved wrong and that American pollution did cause problems, that they would then pay to fix it and pay compensation to those affected? Ie put your money where your mouth is!
Problem is of course that America 1 does not have the resources to compensate for the potential destruction, and 2 it doesn't have the capacity to fix the potential problems.
Once the ice melts, no amount of American investment will bring it back. Once people are dead, no amount of compensation will bring them back. Once the climate is changed it will take centuries to recover.
So basically the rest of the world is telling America, we do not believe that you have the ability/resources or will to compensate us in the event that you are wrong and the rest of the world is right. Therefore we expect you to follow the rest of the world on this one. Every day of delay is more lives lost. We do not want to wait.

It sounds like the European should sign up for their Eugenics program.
A True Scientists will always review new information - but the IPCC says "The Science is Settled"
U.N. Blackballs International Scientists from Climate Change Conference
http://www.heartland.org/Article.cfm?artId=22401
"(CHICAGO, Illinois - December 5, 2007) -- The United Nations has rejected all attempts by a group of dissenting scientists seeking to present information at the climate change conference taking place in Bali, Indonesia.
The International Climate Science Coalition (ICSC) has been denied the opportunity to present at panel discussions, side events, and exhibits; its members were denied press credentials. The group consists of distinguished scientists from Africa, Australia, India, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The scientists, citing pivotal evidence on climate change published in peer-reviewed journals, have expressed their opposition to the UN's alarmist theory of anthropogenic global warming. As the debate on man-made global warming has been heating up, the UN has tried to freeze out the scientists and new evidence, summarily dismissing them with the claim "the science is settled.""

Pope Benedict XVI
Attack: Pope Benedict criticised climate-change prophets of doom
Pope Benedict XVI has launched a surprise attack on climate change prophets of doom, warning them that any solutions to global warming must be based on firm evidence and not on dubious ideology.
The leader of more than a billion Roman Catholics suggested that fears over man-made emissions melting the ice caps and causing a wave of unprecedented disasters were nothing more than scare-mongering.
The German-born Pontiff said that while some concerns may be valid it was vital that the international community based its policies on science rather than the dogma of the environmentalist movement.
His remarks will be made in his annual message for World Peace Day on January 1, but they were released as delegates from all over the world convened on the Indonesian holiday island of Bali for UN climate change talks.
The 80-year-old Pope said the world needed to care for the environment but not to the point where the welfare of animals and plants was given a greater priority than that of mankind.

The real answer is that our government has not taxed the !@#$ out of us. If the US put as high taxes on gas and cars and other poluting items you would see a big change.
Guns and things - Riots in France, immigration issues in germany, the whole Islam issue is far more previlant in Europe. How about we just give guns to everyone

He does seem to have a knack for changing the subject when a difficult issue comes up. or at least expanding it so the original issues gets lost in the shuffle. His "Race Speech" was touted as a "response" to the criticism of Rev. Wright's racist comments. By the time the speech was over, Obama had told us about his grandmother and blended the experiences of lower-income, middle-class whites with those of blacks. He did his best to make race rather than his pastor's racist comments the issue. Take a few minutes to READ the speech. It sure was a lot more "inspiring" when he was delivering it in his sermonizing style than it is when you read it.

For the very reason you disagree with our government, is reason enough for you to own your own gun. If the government doesn't fix itself, the people sure as heck will.
I don't disagree, generally, on much else you had to say. But maybe you should be a little more professional about it? Nobody is going to listen to you if your raving like an extremist.

I'm not really pro-gun, but cars are much more dangerous than guns. If everyone carried a side arm, the rates of homocides wouldn't change much. You'd still be far more likely to kill someone with your car than with your gun.

I don't understand why we are talking back like this. What you said about us is true. Americans are most likely in the world to be careless when it comes to water usage, driving gas guzzlers, having a gun in our straps. I live in Philly and countless people are murdered throughout the year. And, i seriously hope this changes with the next president.
