Tal: The point of the question was to reflect on the fact have we ever met both Jews and Palestinians in real life, so we can sit back and say yes both are human. The human side dear, not just the war side, Do you care to answer the question? Thanx.

L'Chaim my dentist is Iranian, and my doctor is Chinese, to say that all doctors are Jewish would be generalizing , don't you think?

I've met quite a number of BOTH, -& all were positive experiences. They were PEOPLE; just like all the rest of us. And the sooner EVERYONE comes to grips with that, the more PEACEFULL this World is going to be... :)

I have, quite a few. It was in a program called Hands of Peace where Jewish, Xian, and Muslim teens from Chicago, Israel, and the Palestinian territories got together to talk about the issues. Some of them were very sweet, and some were very abrasive, just like all people. However I found all of them except for one (who was an Arab Israeli) tried their hardest to play on the sympathies of the unknowing Americans, often ignoring all the issues and only coming back to how hard their lives were (even though they didn't live in Gaza, and only 1 lived in the West Bank.)

For the most part though, it was a good experience. Why?

(And I'm Jewish and I live in a Jewish community so yes I've met lots)

Gosh the first person I met in my life was Jewish people - of course being the son of a happy married Jewish couple that would make some sense no? As for Palestinians the first ones I ever met were when I was 11 years old and I have met many others since then (one Palestinian guy substitute teaches at my school - many of the kids like him). I had some Palestinian friends back in college and with one major exception (when a group of Palestinian youths attack the group of people from my temple while we were praying outside of the old city - and this was definately an unproved attack this dopes did upon us) I have never had a bad experience personally with Palestinians.

Good Luck!!!

I've met a number of Jews and a 1 or 2 Pal's that I never really knew knew

I am going to talk about the one Jew that blows the stero types out the window

I worked with him - he was a dog walker for a humane society - Poorly paid overworked and constantly in fecal matter of some sort - dog cat rabbit so forth

We were eating lunch and he had a pork sandwich - I said "hey I thought you were not allowed to eat that"
He shrugged and said "So I am a bad Jew" amd kept on eating

He was a extremely informal person dumb as a bag of hammers and one of the nicest people you'd ever meet

I am Jewish and my family members are Jewish and I have some Jewish friends. I also met a couple of Palestinians in my life. One in New York and one where I live now. The two Palestinians I met were nice.

I met both because I am working for an European Embassy.
We very often have meetings in Europe where I have a choice to speak to both of them. Also we all sit together and talk to each other without any problems. Not to long ago I posted a question about a Palestinian who was not allowed to travel back from a trip to Europe through Tel Aviv Airport because he has a Palestinian background. He told all of us this without any hate. He did not make the Jews sitting together with us responsible for his living circumstances.

I had to find out, that it did not seem to be to much of a problem for these guys talking to each other. The hassle they have to go through on daily base seemed to be "normal" to them and I found out that I got more shocked about these conversation than Israelis or Palestinians.

But - I also have to take into consideration that I never talked to a Jew who has lost family in the Holocaust, I never talked personaly to victims of suicide bombers, never to Islamic terrorists or to any Palestinian who lost someone in an Israeli attac. Then it might be different. I do not know.

Like in this section here you see so many hateful posts from people who never were involved in a war or are a victim. (beside ABC stating the treatment from Israelis). But I never talked to him personaly. I would like to hear someone coming up here with some personal experience. From both sides. But.........................Here we are mostly just generalizing and being Jews against Muslims and vs and surprisingly more Jews not living in Israel are jumping on certain subjects than the Israelis theirselves.

I also found out that it is possible for civilized people with manners to talk to each other without blaming personal each other. They know that it's the politics, religious extremists, the past etc. what give them a hard time and the circumstances they have to deal with.

Take care, enjoy the holidays coming up and thanks for asking. Good question.

See the History relating to the origin of man kind.Keep apart the theory of evaluation. The other side is origin of man kind starts from Adam and Eve. At this point there is no dispute .Most of them may agree on this conception.
Old and new testament Bible describes about the various Messiahs and the history of Jews starts from the descendants of Jakob.Intelligent and hard working people and known as sons of GOD.
It has been noted that this Jews are still waiting for their Last prophet as promised to them from Divine.
The truth is that ever so many changes that happened to the religious belief of mankind in the course of time.
Christianity and Islam spread over in the world.Jews are still holding their identity with the hope of the last prophet.Perhaps this shall be one of the known reasons.
All Religious texts describe about the coming of Jesus and Mohamed (sa) as the last prophet.
To put it in a nut shell all are brothers and sisters of the common origin except the brand name of Hindu,Budha ,Jaina ,Sikh,Parsi,Christian and Muslim.
In my opinion ,human kind is now in the age of globalisation and in the form "ALL IN ONE " believing in GOD,created the whole UNIVERSE and who loved all his creations alike .There may be difference of opinion but every body will admit the fact that all human beings are from common origin.

You and millions of others have met and have had many contact with Jews without even knowing it. The teller at a suppermarket, your doctor , your hair dresser, You might ask how is this possable......very simple they look like any Christian,Palistinian, Roman Cathlic . I don't know where you live or what your motive is for asking this question. Wakie.wakie ....It's the 21st century the Jews don't have to wear a badges to identify themselves.

Ok Hopeless I forgive you.

CEDARLEB - I know what you mean and don't worry, B argues with everyone.

I guess the second part of the question is the bit for me to answer:

Although I've known many Muslim people, I've only ever known two Palestinians. It was during my first year at Uni; there were two girls in one of my politics classes; they kept to themselves very much but they were very striking looking and I gathered they were from the middle east, I just wasn't sure where exactly!

Eventually we got talking and they told me they were Palestinian. It later transpired they were from Syria so I was a bit confused! I found them very interesting to talk to - they were incredibly knowledgeable about middle eastern history and politics. We had quite a few conversations about Israel/Arab conflict. I always found them polite and calm.

Jewish people, of course I know many! My family, many of my friends; we're just like anyone else, but rather misunderstood! Even just on YA I read every day comments by people who have the most bizarre ideas about us! Not in this section, though - I find Muslims usually very informed about Judaism and Jewish history.

Nice question, have a star. Shalom :)

B - what 'personal attack'?????????????? Oh, sorry, forgot you have no sense of humour whatsoever! As for making it 'personal' only last week you posted an entire thread attacking one of my sources of info, so don't be such a hypocrite! Lighten up!

DIANA, THAT'S SO FUNNY, what you said to ABC - lol lol

Invading Germans killed much of my Jewish family in Poland, during WWII, including my grandparents.

My mom was a war orphan, hidden by Christians, and smuggled out of Europe, to safety here in Canada.

All my living relatives, on mom's side of the family are conservative Jews, some here in Canada.
