depends on why he is being discharged. if he is at EAOS, then no. If he is getting out on a Medical, he will receive something based on what his disability rating is. If he is being kicked out for HYT, there MIGHT be a form of separation pay.
he can also cash in, for base pay only, any unused Leave days(although I don't recommend this..just use them up and keep your medical and other benefits a little while longer)

Only if you consider a handshake a form of payment. Otherwise, if he qualifies for a disability he will receive a monthly payment from the VA and the military will pay (or provide a Govt move) for him to move back to his home of record or any area that falls within the distance between his duty station and home of record. Selling back leave is a waste (unless you are absolutely hard up for money and need it ASAP) because you are only given your base pay and it is taxed upfront, whereas if you just take the leave you are paid BOTH your base pay and allowances on the regular pay cycle.

Depends on whether or not he has any leftover leave and where you are going to after he gets out. He should get money for the moving of household expenses and the leave he doesn't use. That is the only extra pay he will get.

if hes ret. after 20 + years. if not then just unemployments for 26 weeks. then on to a job that he learned from & done while in the navy. until hes 62./65

they only pay you to stay.. not to leave
