I found many online for the 317th IR 80th ID posted by a guy that had done his doctoral thesis on his Grandfathers experiences. He got them from the National Archives. My Dad was in the 317th too. They were not informative at all. On days that I knew they were up to their butts in alligators taking heavy casualties the reports would read "2nd BN engaged at north of town"

I later found a book based on the journal of an Lt in a different company of the same BN. That was informative, eye opening and told me much about all the "Dads" in the neighborhood. I now know why cocktails were so popular after WWII. To disengage.
