If you're ready, go for it. But it would help if you stated how long it has been. If it has only been 6 months -- bad idea. If it's been a couple years, go for it.

if you 'kinda might' be ready and need advice. That tells me you really think it is too soon to start dating. If you are concerned that others would feel it was too soon, then maybe you should consult them and see what their feelings are.
What we say on here (not knowing the whole situation) is not a good indication of what the people close to you and the deceased would feel. Remember THEY are the people you have to live with, not us.

If I put myself in that situation I don't think that I would date for a long time.....I'm only 25, so I'm sure that I would date again, but I am guessing 5 6 years maybe.

i would think about a year. you need time to grieve. you also need time to get over that first stage of "im alone and i just want somebody to hold" as i call it.
if you feel that you are ready now, my advice would be to take things slow. dont commit to anything serious right now. have fun and just go out on dates with different people and enjoy it.

although thats highly respectfull and commendable of u to think that way, in my opinion, i would not advise u to put your happiness on hold. your children are young!, live a little, have fun, enjoy life, wear protection! (although that doesnt prevent **** these days), u shouldnt be trying to get so involved too quick to any man now anyway... enjoy your kids first, then worry bout that later. it will come around when the opportunity presents itself. Is your life together anyway,? Why are u in such dyin need of a man now??? What can u offer to a relationship? Are u REALLY ready for that?Think about that when u feel so in a rush to b wit someone....

No one grieves the same way. I would say when you stop asking strangers for permission to get on with your life, then you are ready. I'm sorry for your loss. Life is for the living.
