light weights and high reps does not increase definition. increasing definition is the same thing as decreasing body fat and training at a high level of intensity is optimum for that. to see an increase in the metabolic rate after exercise you need to train at a high level of intensity and that can not be achieved with light training loads.

ultimately the diet determines the level of body fat anyway. the foods that you eat have a direct effect on the endocrine system and the endocrine system governs the human body. this is why bodybuilders only eat all natural foods when dieting down for competitions. look at what I ate today:

Breakfast:
1 cup Kashi Strawberry Fields/1 cup Cinnamon Harvest/1/2 cup whole milk (I just don't like milk in general so I can't use 2% it's too much like water)
40 grams blended protein in water:

Snack:
1 medium apple & 2 tablespoons peanut butter

Lunch:
2 cups lentil & split pea soup (loaded with veggies)
8 fried egg whites

Snack:
1 medium orange
1 oz mixed nuts

Dinner:
2 pork chops (all fat trimmed)
sauteed veggies (onions, mushrooms, red/green/yellow peppers)
small mixed green salad with balsamic vinegar & olive oil

Snack:
1 cup low fat cottage cheese

Bed time:
40 grams blended protein & 1 tablespoon natty peanut butter

no...you shouldn't cut...150 isn't that much weight at all...especially if you have a small chest...instead of cutting back weight, you should try doing some cardio to get rid of the fat...

If you lift weights and do cardio. You will look lean and show definition. Thats what you want to do isn't it show off those muscles?

Your muscles will be more defined but smaller, and doing heavy weight will make you have large muscles but not defined so do both in a mixture
