PROBATION: COUNTY AND BY JUDGE. SENTENCE TO ONE YEAR OR LESS

PAROLE-DONE BY A PAROLE BOARD 3-5 PERSONS-AFTER A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME IS DONE BY INMATE A PAROLE HEARING WILL BE CONVEINED. NOT ALWAYS RELEASED FOR REMAINDER OF SENTENCE. (SAY YOU GET 15 YEARS. WITH A 3DAY TO 1 SERVED YOU WOULD BE ELIGIBLE FOR PAROLE IN 5 YEARS. IF YOUR PRISON RECORD IS CLEAN AND YOU HAVE SCHOOL, GED, TRADES ETC YOU MAY GET A PAROLE DATE, IF NOT IT WILL BE DENIED. IF YOU DO GET A PAROLE DATE THEN THE 10 YEARS LEFT, ON YOUR ORIGINAL SENTENCE IS TIME TO REPORT TO A PAROL OFFICER) IF YOU DO GOO AND THEY FEEL YOU ARE REHABILITATED, THE TIMES TO REPORT CAN BE AS LITTLE AS ONCE A YEAR.

EOS IS WHAT MOST INMATES GO FOR IN PRISON. END OF SENTENCE. DO TEN OF THE 15 AND BE RELEASED FROM SYSTEM ALTOGETHER.

probation is part of a sentence, parole is getting out of jail early, with conditions. The role of both is to prevent offenders from re-offending.
