I've been a whooping 5 days on atkins and I feel sick to my stomach I cannot fathom another piece of meat or eggs again. Are there any low carb diets out there that doesnt use as much meat and eggs and butter and oil?? ARGH sick I'm gonna barf just thinking about it.

Anyway. So, I have to lose 180 pounds to be at my goal weight, I know, it's alot.

I exercise but that is not the problem, i am going back to work in february (on mat leave) christmas is in a couple weeks and I am thinking going on a diet after the holidays.


I have found it impossible to cut out nuts even for 2 weeks on Atkins, any suggestions as to which diet I should read about?
Low carb, veggies, but not with so much fat??

I am reading about the south beach diet but it seems complicated with portions, and one day you can have eggs and not the other.

What do you suggest?

I suggest....you think about this....
People on diets want some kind of a plan (the diet) such that they are never hungry, but still lose weight. The ARE ways to do this, but still you may be hungry now and then, and you need to learn to live with it. Weight loss amounts to using up more calories than you take in.....day after day after day. This means eating low calorie foods. Fruits, vegs, lean meat, etc. AND not eating high calorie foods like Fast foods, breads, candy, ice cream etc.
Also, your wrote "I am thinking going on a diet after the holidays" Plain English translation.....you are already finding an excuse to eat too much. You need to get serious about your weight issue and start today, not after the holidays.

I hope you're eating more than meat and eggs. Otherwise, you're NOT doing Atkins.

Are you getting plenty of veggies?

i'd suggest a low glycemic index diet... its like low carb, but with healthy things like brown rice and nuts and seeds... i need it for a health issue, and it help me with my energy tremendously... and as always exercise works wonders for weight, but as for food the glycemic index has a ton of food on it and none of it greasy bacon or tons of steak and no fiber.... you need fiber and fruit.. no matter what some dead guy says....
